Richard Ray: Director of Missions -
Weekly Update
Minister's Wives you are encouraged and invited to attend the Free Minister's Wife Retreat scheduled for July 30-31 hosted at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center.  I also encourage each Pastor/Minister to encourage your wife to attend.
Tri-Rivers Baptist area Minister's Wives have created this opportunity to be Renewed, Refreshed and Recharged.  This is an overnight Retreat, but if you can only come for a portion of this Retreat it will be worth it.  Please review the promotional flyer in this newsletter for additional information and to register.

This past week, Tri-Rivers Baptist Area hosted preteen and youth girls camps at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center.  I am so proud of all those who served these camps and for all those who attended.  We witnessed the Lord move mightily in each of these young ladies lives.  To hear their stories and to witness their ability and strength to share their heart was an experience that I will not soon forget.  I wish I could describe how the Lord moved, but to put it in two words "Joy Unspeakable" - 1 Peter 1:8.
Each of the four camps that Tri-Rivers Baptist Area hosted is a testimony of a "brotherhood of churches" coming together to minister to the least of these.
  • Over 90% of the students who attended had never attended a Christian Camp
  • We were blessed to serve several students who had challenges of autism or autistic
  • 20% of our students have never stayed more than one night away from home
  • 25% of the students came to camp with no relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Of those 25% who had no relationship with Christ - half (50%) accepted the gift of Salvation
  • Of the 50 hours we hosted these students per camp:
    • 12 hours of Worship
    • 12 hours of Bible Study and Bible Related Activity
    • 6 hours of Meals
    • 16 h0urs of Sleep (if the sponsors were lucky)
    • 4 hours of mentoring and fellowship
To offer a camp experience without the expense has blessed not only churches but families who could not have otherwise sent their children to camp.  Thank you for your support of your Tri-Rivers Retreat Center and for those who volunteer their time and talent to share the message of God's Love and Grace.  Special thanks to Bro. Darius Ford who spoke the Word of God at the Boys Camps and Betsy Sharrock for sharing God's Word at the Girls Camps.
You can View the Highlight Video's of Each Camp Here:

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is partnering with Restoration Advocates, Inc. as we continue to minister to victims of Domestic Violence.

Restoration Advocates exists to provide the care and support necessary for women, and their dependent children, who are victims of domestic violence and other dangers that place them at risk of life or physical harm and/or deprive them of their overall safety and sense of well-being.  Our mission is for every woman in an unsafe home to have the confidence, as well as the resources, to independently support herself and her children.
To that end, we have established a safe haven called Restoration Place, where survivors of family violence can live in safety as they restore their lives to health and happiness.  Restoration Place provides emergency housing for women and children in crisis and we also offer transitional housing for a period of up to two years if that is needed for the family to be fully independent and self-supporting.  Learn More HERE
