Richard Ray: Director of Missions -

Weekly Update

I pray that everyone had a blessed and safe weekend as many of our churches hosted fall festivals, hayrides, and other various outreach ministries. This past week, we were busy serving our area churches in the areas of: Bible Study resources, pastor and minister search committee assistance, constitution and bylaws revisions, WMU resources and the gathering of information for our Annual Angel Tree Ministry Outreach in reaching children whose parents are in prison.

This past weekend, my wife and I were blessed to host our family along with our grandkids and church family for a hayride, food, and fellowship. On Sunday, I attended Fairy Baptist Church as my son David Ray and his family joined Fairy Baptist Church as they have moved closer to home.

This week, I will be attending the Texas Baptist Small Church Ministers and Spouse Association Encouragement Conference in Comfort TX where I will lead out in two breakout session "Pastoral Mentoring" and "Should I Retire". This week I will also be attending the Latham Spring Encampment Board Meeting and the Tri-County Coalition Meeting. On Sunday, I will be worshipping and preaching at Purves Baptist Church of Erath Baptist Association.
Tuesday is Election Day a day not only to vote but to also pray for our nation and its leaders.

Please take time to view the newsletter for additional ministry and mission opportunities. It is always a joy to serve you so please do not hesitate to contact your Tri-Rivers Area office if you need assistance or information regarding your ministry needs.

Until next week, "All the believers were together and had everything in common." - Acts 2:44

The Exchange Club will host the One Nation Under God Breakfast for Pastors/Spouses on Thursday, 7 a.m. Nov 12, at The Junction Restaurant, Gatesville.
Rev Richard Ray the Director of Missions for the Tri-Rivers Baptist Area will speak.
Please text Tim Crosby at 254-223-1514 if you will be able to attend.

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is partnering with Restoration Advocates, Inc. as we continue to minister to victims of Domestic Violence.

Restoration Advocates exists to provide the care and support necessary for women, and their dependent children, who are victims of domestic violence and other dangers that place them at risk of life or physical harm and/or deprive them of their overall safety and sense of well-being.  Our mission is for every woman in an unsafe home to have the confidence, as well as the resources, to independently support herself and her children.

To that end, we have established a safe haven called Restoration Place, where survivors of family violence can live in safety as they restore their lives to health and happiness.  Restoration Place provides emergency housing for women and children in crisis and we also offer transitional housing for a period of up to two years if that is needed for the family to be fully independent and self-supporting.  Learn More HERE
