Richard Ray: Director of Missions -
Weekly Update
This past week, your Tri-Rivers Baptist Area continued to serve our Area Churches through multiple ministry opportunities to include: Pastor Search, Background Checks, Child Sexual Awareness Training, Church Safety, Bible Study Resources, Domestic Violence Ministry, WMU and Disaster Relief.
This week, I also attended the funeral service for the mother and mother in law of Ray and Frances Storms. Ray and Frances serve the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center through catering and counseling. Pray for them during their time of loss.   Pastor Miles Miears of Hamilton Association originally received a diagnosis of cancer on his spine and many of you offered up your prayers for him. After the surgery of removing the mass on his spine the doctors discovered that this cancer mass was not cancer but only a mass of blood. Pastor Miles Miears thanks you for the prayers and we thank the Lord for His healing power.
This past Sunday, I was blessed to worship with Valley Grove Baptist Church and share the mission and ministry of Tri-Rivers Baptist Area. Sunday evening, I attended the Revival Services of Selden Baptist Church.
This week, we will be mailing out the 2020 Tri-Rivers Baptist Area Annual Meeting of Church Messenger Bulletins as we prepare for the Annual Meeting scheduled for Sunday, October 18 hosted by FBC Gatesville. Your church should have received Annual Meeting and HOPE Offering Information. If you did not receive this information or you need additional promotional material, please contact us.
This week, we will continue to serve our Area Churches in multiple areas of ministry to include: Meeting with pastors and church leadership of Erath Baptist Association on Monday at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Stephenville, hosting our Pastor/Church Leadership ZOOM Meeting on Tuesday, Speaking at the Saw you at the Pole Youth Event at Coryell Community Church in Gatesville on Wednesday, hosting the Pastor/Church Leadership Gathering on Race Relations at Coryell Community Church on Thursday and on Saturday will be attending the Hispanic Church Pastor/Spouse Fellowship at Boots and Saddle Cowboy Church. This coming Sunday, I will be preaching and worshipping with FBC Lometa of Lampasas Baptist Association.
Please take time to view the newsletter for additional ministry and mission opportunities. It is always a joy to serve you so please do not hesitate to contact your Tri-Rivers Area office if you need assistance or information regarding your ministry needs.
Until next week, "All the believers were together and had everything in common." - Acts 2:44
You are invited to attend the Tri-Rivers Area "NEXT STEP" Intentional Fellowship Initiative Meeting on Racial Relations scheduled for Thursday, September 24 at 10:30 am - Noon; hosted at Coryell Community Church in Gatesville.  This invitation is for every community minister/church leader who wants to see healing take place in these challenging times.  We will be social distancing for safety, but if you cannot join us in person you may join us via ZOOM.
Topics of Meeting:
1. Being a Relevant Church concerning Racial Relations in promoting righteousness and justice in such a way that it points others to Christ?"
2. Discuss the Relevant Church Seminar led by Dr. Reginald F. Davis - Pastor of Historic First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia and author of "The Black Church Relevant or Irrelevant in the 21st Century".  Scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd hosted at Coryell Community Church in Gatesville.
You are invited to attend and bring someone with you to this meeting along with ministers and lay people of different ethnicities to share our hearts, learn from one another and to seek out practical avenues to bring healing and complete unity to all.
Psalm 89:14... "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you."

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is partnering with Restoration Advocates, Inc. as we continue to minister to victims of Domestic Violence.

Restoration Advocates exists to provide the care and support necessary for women, and their dependent children, who are victims of domestic violence and other dangers that place them at risk of life or physical harm and/or deprive them of their overall safety and sense of well-being.  Our mission is for every woman in an unsafe home to have the confidence, as well as the resources, to independently support herself and her children.
To that end, we have established a safe haven called Restoration Place, where survivors of family violence can live in safety as they restore their lives to health and happiness.  Restoration Place provides emergency housing for women and children in crisis and we also offer transitional housing for a period of up to two years if that is needed for the family to be fully independent and self-supporting.  Learn More HERE
