Richard Ray: Director of Missions -
Weekly Update
This past week, we assisted many churches in their ministry needs. Thursday morning, I attended the Latham Spring Encampment Board Meeting in preparation for summer camps. I am blessed to sit on three camp boards
(Latham Springs, Highland Lakes and Heart of Texas). Thursday night, I was honored to attend the outside baptism service conducted by the BSM of Tarleton and area churches on the campus of Tarleton University. It was a joy to hear these young men and women share their testimony followed by their baptism. Many seeds of Salvation were planted that night.
On Friday, I spent time with four of my grandkids as we attend a Texas Rangers ball game. Saturday, I counseled a young couple as they prepare for marriage, attended Pastor Jeremy Sanders and Misty Sanders daughter's first birthday party at FBC Oglesby and I that evening I worshipped at the Heavenly Highway Singing hosted by Calvary Baptist Church in Stephenville.
Palm Sunday, I was blessed to attend my home church (Fairy Baptist Church) and hear my father preach and my mother lead worship. It is always a joy to listen to my father preach as he delivers a message from our Heavenly Father.
We are working with our state and local agencies in gathering information and direction in how we can serve in the areas of: Crises Respite Center, Caring for Caregivers, Homes for the Homeless as well as our continued service of ministering to those hurt by Domestic Violence. Therefore, as we continue to gather information on these ministries of HOPE, we have put together an On-Line Informational Form seeking those who might feel called to serve in one of these areas of ministry. Please go to our website: and register to volunteer or to receive additional information. I just believe God is calling us out to minister to those who are hurting and in need of healing. We can accomplish this together as a Brotherhood of Churches. Be in prayer on how you can serve.
This week, I am working out at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center preparing for the upcoming Church Retreats and Camps that are scheduled. Good Friday, I will be with my family as we remember the price Jesus paid for our sins as a remembrance service at Fairy Baptist Church. This Easter Sunday, I will be preaching at Naruna Baptist Church.
Don't' forget to Pre-Register early for the 2nd Annual Tri-Rivers Pre-Teen/Youth Camps. Space is limited as we have already received multiple pre-registrations. Remember the Cost is free, but space is limited, so please register your students early. Pre-Registration is simple, we just need the name of the church and how many you think will attend. On April 30th, we will send out Camp Packets to each pre-registered church to confirm their pre-registered numbers and to officially register their students. See this newsletter for additional information and how and where to pre-register or you can call your Tri-Rivers Area Office for assistance.
Until next week, please view the newsletter to stay updated on all that is happening through your Tri-Rivers Baptist Area. Take time this week, to plant the seed of Salvation in someone.

Until next week, "He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay." - Matthew 28:6

Rural Churches Ministry Summer 2019 Intern

We are the sister churches of White Mound Baptist and Mound Cowboy Church located southeast of Gatesville in Coryell County, Texas, about 38 miles from Baylor University. We are seeking a single summer intern or married couple as summer interns to minister to children and younger youth in our country churches. A rural background is not a prerequisite. Interns need a loving heart to see children grow closer to Christ. Ministry opportunities include Wednesday nights, in a teaching and recreation time, and Sunday mornings, teaching during Sunday School. Planning special recreation events to be with children in a fun setting has been a summer tradition. Interns will participate in our week of evening Vacation Bible School and will accompany 3rd through 6th grade children to Kidz Kamp at Latham Springs July 18-22. A first year of taking kids to junior high camp is another vision for this summer. God is speaking to our children. Several have made decisions to follow Christ in the past few months, and this summer would be opportunity to disciple these children. We envision a minimum of 20 hours per week at $12.50 to $15.00 per hour from May 19 to August 11.
The intern should be able to do the job and take summer seminary classes, also. Depending on the intern's gifts, call to ministry, and time, opportunity to preach two to three times and accompany our Bivocational pastor on pastoral visits is possible. Interested students may contact the pastor, Dr. Bruce Cox, at by February 21st.
