Richard Ray: Director of Missions -

Weekly Update

This past week, I was honored and blessed to attend Robertson Avenue Baptist Church Seder Meal with pastor Josh Morrison. It was a time of remembrance of what our Lord went through to show His Love toward us and how Christ is in every element of our lives. I was also blessed to attend Fairy Baptist Church on Good Friday as we worshipped the Lord and partook of The Lord Supper. On Easter Sunday, I again was blessed to attend Fairy Baptist Church with my family and grandkids as I was able to assist in the Baptism of my grandson Jason.

This Sunday, I will be attending Clear Creek Baptist Church as they vote to receive their new pastor. Sunday evening, I will be attending the Coryell Baptist Associational Music Festival hosted at Trinity Baptist Church in Gatesville. This week, I will be hosting a Bivocational/Small Church Association Officers Meeting and attending the Latham Spring Baptist Encampment Area Board Meeting.

The Tri-Rivers Retreat Center is receiving reservation on a weekly basis and the summer calendar only has a couple of weeks open as we serve Area Churches and ministries. Remember there is no cost to use your Tri-Rivers Retreat Center because of your support. Make your reservations at tririversretreatcenter.com.

The Payoff of the Retreat Center in Pledges and Gifts have totaled $14,500 received from Area Churches and Individuals. We (Area Churches) purchased this facility for $420,000 in September 2017 and as of March 1 we owe approximately $170,000. When the Retreat Center is paid off it will allow these funds to be released to serve our Area Churches. You can view the Goal Calculator and those who have given or pledged to give on the Tri-Rivers website: tri-riversbaptistarea.com.

Please take time to view the newsletter for additional ministry and mission opportunities. It is always a joy to serve you so please do not hesitate to contact your Tri-Rivers Area office if you need assistance or information regarding all your ministry needs.

Donation of Church Building

First Baptist Church of Dublin, Texas acquired an old First Christian Church many years ago and it is/was scheduled for demolition to make room for the expansion of our preschool play yard and future play ground equipment. They recently found out the church was rebuilt in 1958 using some of the salvaged lumber, hardware and stained glass from the original church back in 1889. Wanting to preserve its history and save it from demolition, they are seeking to donated it to be moved at the new owner's expense.

The main structure is approximately 43' x 60' and on pier and beam, making it easier to move. There is another portion on pier and beam available if interested. Part of the structure was bricked in 1977 which means there's likely wood siding underneath if the brick were to be removed. Water and gas have already been cut off, but power is still hooked up. If anyone is interested, it can be viewed by appointment only.

Contact FBC Dublin Office at (254) 445-2435 to schedule an appointment.

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is partnering with Restoration Advocates, Inc. as we continue to minister to victims of Domestic Violence.

Restoration Advocates exists to provide the care and support necessary for women, and their dependent children, who are victims of domestic violence and other dangers that place them at risk of life or physical harm and/or deprive them of their overall safety and sense of well-being.  Our mission is for every woman in an unsafe home to have the confidence, as well as the resources, to independently support herself and her children.

To that end, we have established a safe haven called Restoration Place, where survivors of family violence can live in safety as they restore their lives to health and happiness.  Restoration Place provides emergency housing for women and children in crisis and we also offer transitional housing for a period of up to two years if that is needed for the family to be fully independent and self-supporting.  Learn More HERE
