Richard Ray: Director of Missions -

Weekly Update

This past week, I attended the Tri-Rivers/UnLimited Partnership Leadership Seminar at FBC Gatesville, I also completed some minor repairs at the Erath Mission House in Stephenville, spent time with Pastors during the DOM/Pastors Luncheon in Hico, while also hosting and attending the Texas Baptist Men Yellow Cap Training and Laundry/Shower Unit Training at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center. On Sunday, I was honored to worship and preach at Naruna Baptist Church.

This week, we had an amazing time at the DOM/Pastor's Luncheon in Gatesville as we shared our prayers and praises with one another. It was a wonderful time of fellowship. I want to thank all the pastors who attended the four DOM/Pastor's Luncheon we hosted in February.

This week, we are finishing up the exterior of the Boyd Chapel at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center. The Tri-Rivers Retreat Center has been busy in 2019 hosting several weekend Retreats. The Retreat Center will be hosting various church retreats five out of the next six weeks. Please check Retreat Center website tririversretreatcenter.com to learn more and or to make reservations.

The Retreat Center is free to all Area Churches thanks to the contributions from area churches to the Retreat Center. Your support makes this ministry possible. If your church is not supporting your Tri-Rivers Retreat Center, I pray you will consider supporting this valuable ministry resource.

Until next week, please view the newsletter to stay updated on all that is happening through your Tri-Rivers Baptist Area. Take time this week, to share your story of Salvation to someone.

Until next week, "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." - Proverbs 29:18

Rural Churches Ministry Summer 2019 Intern

We are the sister churches of White Mound Baptist and Mound Cowboy Church located southeast of Gatesville in Coryell County, Texas, about 38 miles from Baylor University. We are seeking a single summer intern or married couple as summer interns to minister to children and younger youth in our country churches. A rural background is not a prerequisite. Interns need a loving heart to see children grow closer to Christ. Ministry opportunities include Wednesday nights, in a teaching and recreation time, and Sunday mornings, teaching during Sunday School. Planning special recreation events to be with children in a fun setting has been a summer tradition. Interns will participate in our week of evening Vacation Bible School and will accompany 3rd through 6th grade children to Kidz Kamp at Latham Springs July 18-22. A first year of taking kids to junior high camp is another vision for this summer. God is speaking to our children. Several have made decisions to follow Christ in the past few months, and this summer would be opportunity to disciple these children. We envision a minimum of 20 hours per week at $12.50 to $15.00 per hour from May 19 to August 11.

The intern should be able to do the job and take summer seminary classes, also. Depending on the intern's gifts, call to ministry, and time, opportunity to preach two to three times and accompany our Bivocational pastor on pastoral visits is possible. Interested students may contact the pastor, Dr. Bruce Cox, at bruce_cox@sbcglobal.net by February 21st.
