Richard Ray: Director of Missions -
Weekly Update
This past week, just as the weeks prior, have been to continuing working on the Boyd Chapel at the Tri-Rivers Retreat Center. I want to thank the efforts of those who have volunteered their time and talents in putting up sheetrock, Hardie board and most of the metal roof. If you would like to volunteer at the Retreat Center as we finish out the Chapel and make it ready for use, please give me a call.
I have enjoyed the visits with Area Pastors at the DOM/Pastor Luncheons. It is always a joy to fellowship and pray over one another as we serve the Lord together. I am proud of all our pastors who have accepted the call to serve their church with passion and purpose. There are still two more scheduled DOM/Pastor Luncheon so if you haven't made one or would like to attend another luncheon, I encourage you to do so.
This past week, I was honored to share the mission and ministry of Tri-Rivers Baptist Area with the Coalition that serves Coryell, Hamilton and Erath Counties. I was also proud to share the ministry of the Tri-Rivers Domestic Violence Emergency Safe House. I look forward to attending their monthly meetings to see how we as churches can assist the needs of so many who are hurting and in need of healing, both physical and spiritual. If you would like to serve as a Domestic Violence Advocate for this needed ministry, please contact me.
Last Sunday, I worshipped and preach at Naruna Baptist Church. This week, I will be singing at Valentine Banquets for Adamsville Baptist Church and The Church at Blue Ridge. I always enjoy spending time with our Area Churches. This Sunday, I will be preaching at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. On Monday, I will be co-hosting with UnLimited Partnership Pastor a Staff Leadership Development Session at FBC Gatesville. See more information of this session in this newsletter.
It is our goal to finish the metal roof on the Boyd Chapel at the Retreat Center this week and complete the Hardie Board installation over the front porch of the Chapel.
Until next week, please view the newsletter to stay updated on all that is happening through your Tri-Rivers Baptist Area. Take time this week, to share your story of Salvation to someone. Happy Valentine's Day.
Until next week, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

Rural Churches Ministry Summer 2019 Intern

We are the sister churches of White Mound Baptist and Mound Cowboy Church located southeast of Gatesville in Coryell County, Texas, about 38 miles from Baylor University. We are seeking a single summer intern or married couple as summer interns to minister to children and younger youth in our country churches. A rural background is not a prerequisite. Interns need a loving heart to see children grow closer to Christ. Ministry opportunities include Wednesday nights, in a teaching and recreation time, and Sunday mornings, teaching during Sunday School. Planning special recreation events to be with children in a fun setting has been a summer tradition. Interns will participate in our week of evening Vacation Bible School and will accompany 3rd through 6th grade children to Kidz Kamp at Latham Springs July 18-22. A first year of taking kids to junior high camp is another vision for this summer. God is speaking to our children. Several have made decisions to follow Christ in the past few months, and this summer would be opportunity to disciple these children. We envision a minimum of 20 hours per week at $12.50 to $15.00 per hour from May 19 to August 11.
The intern should be able to do the job and take summer seminary classes, also. Depending on the intern's gifts, call to ministry, and time, opportunity to preach two to three times and accompany our Bivocational pastor on pastoral visits is possible. Interested students may contact the pastor, Dr. Bruce Cox, at by February 21st.
