STR Hotel performance Trends and Forecasts
A review of hotel industry KPIs (key performance indicators) for the US overall and New Mexico since the recession and a forecast of what lies ahead. Commentary on current events impacting the tourism industry (hurricanes/wildfires, Airbnb, international travel, politics, etc.) will also be addressed.
Before Chris Klauda (STR) facilitates her keynote presentation during the general session program at lunch, Chris will conduct a deep dive analysis of travel trends and tourism indicators specific to New Mexico. This program will serve as a follow up to the NMHA Regional Tourism Economic Summit Series from 2017. NMHA staff will also preview its upcoming travel trends data dashboard which will launch after TRENDS.

Situational Awareness & Active Shooter Prevention
This 3-hour presentation will include:
Active Shooter Prevention and Survival - This will include recognizing the phases of an active shooter, preventative measures, and countermeasures if you find yourself in an incident.
Pre-Attack Indicators - This session includes pre-attack indicators of violence and terrorism specifically designated for hotels and their staff. There will also be a small section on personal pre-attack indicators and self-defense maneuvers to help hotel staff keep themselves safe while on the job.
