Street Sign Replacement Program
In order to comply with the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) mandate requiring municipalities to meet minimum retro reflectivity requirements, the Town of Mount Pleasant will soon implement a Street Sign Replacement Program. The FHWA mandate requires agencies to prioritize replacement of signs that do not meet the federally required minimum retro reflective standards and begin implementing an asset management program to bring the signs into compliance.

In an effort to help communicate the program, the Town has created a Street Sign Replacement Policy which goes into more detail on the approvals needed by a neighborhood to utilize special posts and will be available to the public online. The goal of this policy is to create a consistent approach to the replacement process in regards to both existing infrastructure as well as future development throughout the Town.
