Dear Mount Pleasant residents and business owners,
 
On behalf of Mayor Haynie and Mount Pleasant Town Council, I'd like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for in this wonderful community. I hope you will join us in celebrating the holidays by participating in our upcoming special events such as the Mayor's Music & Art Program, hosted in conjunction with our Culture, Arts & Pride Commission, the Holiday Market and Craft Show and the Christmas Light Parade.

The Request for Applications (RFA) for Charleston County's Urban Entitlement funding is now available.  Applications are due Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Noon (12 p.m.) Click HERE for more information. 
Street Sign Replacement Program
To meet Federal Highway Administration requirements, the Mount Pleasant Transportation and Public Services departments have partnered in a joint street sign replacement program. The capital improvement project will replace about 7,500 signs over the next five years. The Street Sign Replacement Program will include all street signs within the Town, with the exclusion of private roads and sideways. Existing signs will be removed if they are considered redundant or do not meet standards. Additional signs may be added where deemed applicable.

Town Administrator's Mobile Office Hours
 

Join our Town Administrator for an informal meet & greet at the next Mobile Office Hours event on Dec 17, 2019  from 10 - 11 AM at the Park West Program Building (1251 Park West Blvd.).  Each month, the Town Administrator holds open office hours at various locations around the community. All citizens are invited to stop by and discuss items of interest to them.  No appointment necessary. For more information about this program, visit the Mobile Office Hours webpage or call (843) 884 - 8517.
Recycle Oyster Shells

Did you know that oysters have been a traditional holiday food since settlers arrived on the coast? Many families still enjoy oysters for Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season. Be sure to properly recycle your oyster shells to help keep oyster populations and our waterways healthy! Learn how and where to recycle your oyster shells HERE.
