Winter Parent Meeting -

November 8th


The Winter Parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will take place in the High School Cafeteria.

Winter Picture Time - November 21st

Winter Athletic Pictures will take place on Monday, November 21st, after school for high school and middle school winter athletic teams. Please be on the lookout for additional information from your athlete’s coach.

Congratulations to the Princeton boys water polo team on defeating St. Xavier High School 13-8 in the South Region Championship game on Friday, October 21st, at Princeton.


The Vikings enter the State Tournament this week as #1 South Seed and will play the winner of the St. Francis De Sales vs. Sycamore match on Saturday, October 29th, at 7:20 PM.

Greater Miami Conference

Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to Riley Woods, Landon Brooks, Jordan Blake, and Lauren Burns on receiving Greater Miami Conference Athlete of the Week honors.


Riley Woods is a senior on the football team. He had 3 carries for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win over Sycamore. Riley also had 2 receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown.


Landon Brooks is a senior on the boys varsity soccer team. He was instrumental in providing attacking opportunities and creating scoring chances during the Mason, Sycamore, and Fairmont matches. Landon demonstrates the leadership qualities any coach would want from a senior captain.


Jordan Blake is a junior on the cross country team. He has been working hard, and recently ran a PR at the GMC Championship race this past Saturday. Jordan has a great work ethic and has improved greatly throughout the year.


Lauren Burns is a junior on the cross country team. She ran a great race at the GMC Championship race, setting a new season PR by more than a minute. Lauren has worked through an injury this season, and is doing a great job.

Tournament Information

Greater Miami Conference Cheer and Dance Competition

The 2022 Greater Miami Conference Cheer and Dance Competition took place on Sunday, October 23rd at Fairfield High School. 

Cross Country

The Princeton High School cross country program raced in the Southwest District Sectionals on Saturday, October 22nd, at Voice of America Park. 


The boys scored 341 points to finish in 13th place. In the Division 1A Boys 5K, Declan McGrath finished in 43rd place, with a time of 17:41.0. Andrew Dunlap finished in 66th place at 19:04.0, with Ian Ewing-Jackson immediately behind with a time of 19:07.8. Mark Whitener (20:22.2), Nigel Adjei-Mensah (20.27.1), and Donovan Kemp (20:29.3) pushed each other to finish in place 83-85. 


The girls competed in the GMC XC Championships, finishing in 9th place with 226 team points. Emily Johnson placed 37th out of 68, with a time of 21:29.4. Lauren Burns (22.12.1) placed 43rd with Melanie Kessler (22.18.9) at 44th. Makenna Carrigan earned 49th place with a time of 22:45.6. Gloria Dunlap has a personal best time of 23:05.3 helping her place 53rd. Maddie Slagle came in 56th at 23:50.2. Rayne Hannah took 65th with a time of 30:25.0.

Regional Championships will be held on Saturday, October 29th, in Troy, Ohio, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Girls Soccer

The Princeton Lady Vikings varsity team received the 27th seed at the Southwest District Girls Sectional Tournament seed meeting. Princeton lost to #3, Seton High School, 8-0 in the postseason game on Saturday, October 22nd.


The Lady Vikings finished the season with a record of 3-11-2 (1-7-1).  


Boys Soccer

The Princeton boys varsity soccer team opened up the Southwest District Sectional Tournament on the road against Colerain on Monday, October 17th. The Cardinals scored 3 unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the Vikings 0-3.

 

The Vikings finished the regular season with a 6-9-3 overall record. This season, Princeton earned 4 league wins (4-5-1), which marks the most conference wins since the 2014 season (4-4-1).

 

The defense recorded four shutouts on the season, and the offense scored 27 goals.


The JV boys team ended their season with a hard-fought game against Fairmount Soccer. The team improved their skills and learned a lot this season.

Girls Volleyball

The Princeton Lady Vikings varsity volleyball team lost 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 21-25, 18-25) to Western Brown in the opening round of the SW District Sectional Volleyball Tournament. Princeton finished the season with an 8-15 overall record.


Water Polo

Princeton High School was the host site for the Boys and Girls Regional Water Polo Tournaments this past weekend. Click here to check out amazing action photographs featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer. 


The AquaVikes team beat St. Xavier 13-8 for the South Regional title! They are the number 1 seed from the South in the State Tournament, which will be played October 29-30, hosted at Princeton High School. The AquaVikes came into the regional tournament undefeated in the South Region and completed the sweep!

The Lady Vikes Water Polo team beat Walnut Hills, 15-7, to advance to play against the Mavericks. The Mavericks beat the Vikings, 8-4 before winning over Sycamore by one goal, 12-13 in a sudden-death double overtime match in the Princeton pool. With that, the Mavericks advance as the girls varsity South Regional Champions. 

Football

The Princeton Vikings football team will host the West Clermont Wolves in the first round of the state tournament on Friday, October 28th.


Game day tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 24th at 5:00 PM. All tickets will be sold at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. Student Tickets (School Age Children) are $8.00 and Adults are $10.00.


Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM.

  • No. 1 seed Moelle (9-1) will host No. 16 Hamilton (3-7)
  • No. 2 seed Elder (8-2) takes on No. 15 Middletown (3-7) at The Pit
  • No. 3 Lakota West (10-0) will host No. 14 Lebanon (4-6)
  • No. 4 Springboro (7-3) will host No. 13 Oak Hills (5-5)
  • No. 5 Mason (8-2) hosts GMC rival No. 12 Colerain (4=6)
  • No. 6 Princeton (8-2) will host No. 11 seed West Clermont (5-5)
  • No. 7 Milford (8-2) will host No. 10 Western Hills (5-5)
  • No. 8 seed Fairfield (7-3) hosts No. 9 St. Xavier (4-6)



Mason Recap

A power outage stopped play shortly into the second quarter while the game was still scoreless. The teams got back to game action, with Mason's field goal from 43 yards, giving the Comets a 3-0 lead and ultimately the win, with the final score of 10-7. 


Sycamore Recap

The Princeton Vikings scored 35 second-quarter points en route to a 42-7 win at Sycamore High School on Friday, October 14th. 


The Vikings' offense finished the game with 400 total yards, with 288 yards on the ground. Riley Woods led the ground attack with 133 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.


Deandre Rutherford, Teryntino Brown-Freeman, and RJ West all scored rushing touchdowns in the win.


Quarterback RJ West finished 8-of-10 passing for 97 yards and a touchdown. Dorian Williams led the receiving core with 3 catches for 44 yards.


Princeton’s defense limited the Aviators to 91 total yards of offense. Sycamore was 1-of-10 on third down.


Donya Borden had a team-high 7 tackles. Blake Howard and Breeon Ishmail finished with 6 and 5 tackles, respectively. Ishmail led the team with 2.0 tackles for loss. Chaz Cole, Solomon Farrell, and Caleb Clark-Glover were all credited with a pass deflection.

PCMS Boys Soccer -

The Princeton Vikings defeated Seven Hills 1-0 in the opening round of the boys junior high soccer tournament. Jameson Holloway scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the game! Princeton moves on to the semi-finals at Walnut Hills on Wednesday, October 20th. 


The Vikings lost to #1 Walnut Hills 0-6 in the semi-finals to finish the season with a 5-6-2 record.

PCMS Girls Soccer -

The Lady Vikings lost to Walnut Hills 1-5 in the semi-finals of the girls junior high soccer tournament. Princeton played for third place on Saturday, October 22nd at Seven Hills.

PCMS Cross Country - 

The cross country team finished their regular season at the Yellow Springs Invitational. The Vikings continued to dominate the race course down the season's stretch with several new Personal Records (PRs).

Upcoming Seasons

Boys Basketball Open Gyms & Tryout Information 

Princeton Basketball open gyms for 7th and 8th Grade will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.


Boys 7th and 8th Grade basketball tryouts will be held on Friday, October 29th, at 3:15 p.m. in Viking Arena. Tryouts will continue on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. Athletes must have all Final Forms completed and updated to participate.

Wrestling -

Interested student-athletes should register on Final Forms and contact Coach Davis at [email protected]. The first practice will be Monday, November 14th, after school.

Winter Cheer Tryouts -

The 2022-23 Basketball Cheer Tryouts are right around the corner. There will be an informational meeting on October 24th at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Grid.

Cheer packets will be made available in the athletic office on Monday, October 24th.


The cheer program will hold two days of clinics, and the third day will be an open gym.


The first clinic will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th, in the High School Aux Gym. The second clinic will take place on Wednesday, October 26th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.


Open gym will be held on Thursday, October 27th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Basketball Cheer Tryouts will be held on Saturday, October 29th, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Please contact Coach Zellars with any questions.
