Greater Miami Conference

Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to Chaz Cole, Andrew Dunlap, and Will Oliver on receiving Greater Miami Conference Athlete of the Week Honors.

 

Chaz Cole is a junior on the football team. In the team's win at Fairfield, Chaz recorded 6 tackles and an interception and return for 21 yards.

 

Andrew Dunlap is a sophomore on the cross country team. He ran a new season best of 19:54.5. Andrew works hard in practice and is starting to see the results on Saturdays. He is gearing up to have a great October of racing.

 

Will Oliver is a senior on the football and soccer team. On Saturday, Will played in his soccer game during the afternoon, and then kicked for the football team at Fairfield. In the football game, he was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points.

Jersey Mike’s Above and Beyond

Athlete of the Week Honors

Congratulations to Madysen Jackson, Rian Woods, Maliyah Broadnax, and Makenna Carrigan on receiving Jersey Mike's Above and Beyond Athlete of the Week honors.

 

Madysen Jackson is a senior on the cheer team. She comes to every practice and event, ready to go. She assists her teammates who need help during the game. Madysen has also worked on improving not only on the track, but off the track. She has shown great growth in her attitude and mindset.

 

Rian Woods is a junior student-athlete. He is currently rehabbing an injury and working extremely hard with the Athletic Department to help support the office.

 

Maliyah Broadnax is a sophomore on the volleyball team. She has shown great leadership as a setter and hustles throughout each game and practice.

 

Makenna Carrigan is a senior on the cross country team. She ran a new season best of 23:48.6. Makenna has been struggling with some injuries, but has overcome them with hard and determination. She was able to go out and give a great performance on her senior day.

Highlights from 9/14 - 9/20

Cross Country

The Princeton Cross Country program hosted its annual invitational on Saturday, September 24th, at Landmark Athletic Complex. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, staff members, and Landmark for making the event successful.


The girls team finished 10th in the varsity race with a team time of 1:53.52. Emily Johnson placed 33rd overall with a time of 21:40.6. Maddie Slagle finished 35th overall in 21:53.0, and Lauren Burns placed 60th with a time of 23:02.9. Melanie Kessler (65th / 23:26.9), Makenna Carrigan (70th / 23:48.6), Gloria Dunlap (78th / 24:21.0), and Rayne Hannah (87th / 29:08.2) all ran great!


The boys team finished with a team time of 1:36:54 to place 10th overall in the varsity race. Declan McGrath led the Vikings with a time of 18:25.6 to finish 48th overall. Ian Ewing-Jackson placed 65th in 19:13.1, Grant Smith ran a time of 19:13.8 to finish 67th, and Andrew Dunlap posted a time of 19:54.5 to place 83rd. Princeton also had great runs from Donovan Kemp, Mark Whitener, and Nigel Adjei-Mensah.

Girls Tennis

The Princeton girls tennis team defeated Talawanda 3-2 on Monday, September 26th, at Princeton High School.


The Vikings finish the regular season with a 7-9 overall record.

 

Princeton travels to Mason on Thursday morning to begin the Greater Miami Conference Tennis Tournament. The first matches are scheduled for 8:00 AM.

Girls Golf

The Princeton Vikings hosted Talawanda on Monday, September 26th, at the Glenview Golf Course. London Harris and Sophi Roberts shot a 56 to lead the team. 


The Lady Vikings will prepare for the Sectional Tournament on Monday, October 3rd, at the Hamilton Elks Golf Club. Princeton will begin on Hole 10 at 9:15 AM.

Boys Golf

The Princeton Vikings posted a two-day tournament score of 949 at the Greater Miami Conference Golf Tournament at Walden Ponds. Scott Lawson finished 46th overall with a 200 score. Jamey Spears placed 48th in the tournament with a 201 score.


Sam Maloney (220), Sammy Roberts (228), Jack Reynolds (229), and Kai Hannah (247) rounded the scoring for the Vikings.


Princeton competed at the Best of the West on September 25th at Miami Whitewater Golf Course. The Vikings scored 437 during the tournament. Scott Lawson (104), Veer Patel (110), and Sammy Roberts (110) led the team.


The Vikings turned around on Tuesday, September 27th, to battle Taylor High School at Neumann Golf Course. Jamey Spears shot a personal best 41 to lead the Vikings in the match. Princeton scored 202.

Girls Soccer

Princeton lost to Lakota West 1-3 on Thursday, September 22nd. The Lady Vikings travel to Lakota East (9/29) and New Richmond (10/1) before hosting Hamilton on Tuesday, October 4th.

Boys Soccer

The Princeton boys soccer team is currently 5-5-1 overall and 3-2 in the Greater Miami Conference. In the team’s last five matches, the Vikings are 2-2-1 overall. 


On Tuesday, September 27th, Princeton defeated Western Brown 4-0. Edwin Barrera, Aiden Billiter, Landon Brooks, and Jonathon Reyes all scored in the match.


Senior Aiden Billiter currently ranks 14th in the conference with 11 points on offense.

Cheerleading 

Little Vikes Cheer Night will take place on Friday, September 30th. Please complete the registration form by Monday, September 19th. Please contact Coach Zellars at lzellars@vikingmail.org.


Basketball Cheer Tryouts are right around the corner. The program will hold an informational meeting on October 24th, at 6:00 PM, in the High School GRID (library). There will be two days of clinics (October 25-26) with Open Gym on October 27th. Tryouts will take place on October 29th from 9:00 - Noon.

Girls Volleyball

The Princeton girls volleyball team defeated Purcell Marian 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-15) on Monday, September 26th at Princeton High School. The Vikings improve to 7-9 overall.


Natalie Williams had 8 kills and 2 blocks. Caeley Goins finished the game with 4 service aces and 8 kills. Beatrice Scatena had 4 kills and a block, and Aries Hutcherson added 5 kills and 2 blocks in the win.

Boys Water Polo

The Princeton Girls and Boys Water Polo teams will be in action this weekend as they co-host the 2nd Annual Best of the Midwest Tournament.

Football

The Princeton Vikings defeated Fairfield 28-14 on Saturday, September 24th, at Fairfield High School. Princeton improves to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.


Princeton’s offense generated 340 total yards. RJ West passed for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns. Deandre Rutherford led the rushing game with 74 yards. 


Jordan Houston finished the game with 2 catches for 81 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown reception.


The Vikings defense forced the Indians to 5-of-12 on third down. Travis Lawrence had a game-high 10 tackles, including 7 solo tackles. Chaz Cole had the lone interception in the game.

The Vikings and Tri-County Golf Ranch will host the 2022 Greater Miami Conference Junior High Golf Tournament on 9/30 and 10/3. The boys team will begin at 9:00 AM on Monday.

PCMS Boys Soccer -

Princeton defeated Taylor 1-0 last Thursday. Josue Garcia Chilel volleyed the ball in the back of the net after a great service from Nate Messer.

PCMS Girls Soccer -

Princeton defeated Winston Woods 7-0 on Monday evening to improve their record to 6-1-1 overall. Olivia Leung, Addison Carrigan, Kamryn Lowe, Navee’ah Benton, and Naomi Wyant each scored in the win. Alyssa Darden and A’Nyiah Weather record the shutout in goal.

PCMS Volleyball - 

The 7th grade volleyball team defeated Hamilton Wilson 2-0 on Tuesday, September 27th. The Lady Vikings have won 6 consecutive matches!


The 8th grade volleyball team completed the sweep against Hamilton Wilson, winning 2-1. Princeton has won 4 of their last 6 matches!

PCMS Football 

The 7th and 8th Grade football teams return to action on Thursday after a bye week. The 7th grade team is currently 4-1 overall, and the 8th grade team is 2-3. Princeton hosts Fairfield on September 29th at 4:30/5:45 PM.



PCMS Cross Country - 

The Princeton Vikings had outstanding runs at the Princeton Invite and Hopewell Invite. The Vikings had five new personal records at the home meet last Saturday. Congratulations to Austin Young (13:34), Lincoln Soots (13:35), Colin Goodall (15:16), Quinn Baker (15:17), and Vivian Fields (18:58).


During Monday’s race at Hopewell, Princeton had seven personal records (PRs) set. Congratulations to Samantha Young (17:28), Zoey Scott (22:17), Avah Hurst (20:28), Erin Schutte (16:30), Allie Campbell (17:44), Allie Rengering (19:17), and Alan Marroquin Vazquez (14:18).


PCMS Girls Tennis -

The Princeton girls tennis team will host the Greater Miami Conference JH Tennis Tournament on Monday, October 3rd. The tournament will get underway at 9:00 AM.

The Princeton Girls Basketball program will hold tryouts for their 5th & 6th Grade Girls teams on Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Lacrosse Clinic - Grades 3-12


The Princeton Lacrosse program will hold Fall clinics on Tuesday evenings, 5:00 to 6:00 PM, on the grass field behind the Stadium.

Princeton Staff Golf League


The Tri-County Golf Ranch will host its first Princeton Fall Golf League that will be open to Princeton Administration and Teachers. The weekly league will be played on Wednesdays beginning October 5th at 5:00 PM. Please contact Dani at the course with any questions, dani@tricountygolfranch.com.
