We are underway in Vike Nation with the 2022 Fall Athletic Season. Our athletic teams have worked extremely hard to prepare for a successful season. We encourage you to follow along all season and support our Vikings to victory.

Princeton Red Rage Student Section


The Princeton Vikings Red Rage Student Section did an excellent job during the varsity football game on Friday. The students supported our football team, cheerleaders, and marching band during Friday night’s 28-0 home win against Colerain. The Red Rage has strong momentum early in the school year.


All students are encouraged to follow the Red Rage on social media and be active in supporting all of our Vikings during competition and performances.

Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to Aries Hutcherson, Breeon Ishmail, and Leah Bracknell on receiving honors from the Greater Miami Conference as Athletes of the Week.


Aries Hutcherson is a senior on the volleyball team. She recorded four kills and three blocks in the team's victory over Northwest on Saturday.


Breeon Ishmail is a senior on the football team. He had eight tackles and a forced fumble in the Vikings' 28-0 win against Colerain on Friday.


Leah Bracknell is a senior on the tennis team. She won both matches this past week against Middletown and Fairfield.

Highlights from 8/22 to 8/28

Girls Tennis

The Princeton High School girls tennis team defeated Fairfield 4-1 on Thursday, August 25th at Princeton High School. The Vikings improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the Greater Miami Conference.

 

Amanda Tulloss remained undefeated in 2nd Singles after defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-2.

 

Adaiyah Hammond won her 3rd Singles match 6-4,6-3. The 1st Doubles duo of Annie Schmahl and Lilli Edmiston won 6-2, 6-3.

 

On Court 5, Leah Bracknell and Paytyn DePeel defeated their 2nd Doubles opponent 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Girls Golf

The Princeton High School girls golf team hosted the Madeira Amazons on Thursday, August 25th at Glenview Golf Course. The Lady Vikings posted a 62 average score on the day.


Ariana Watson shot a team-low 60. Sophia Roberts and Alexis Huwel shot a 62 and 63 respectively.


London Harris currently ranks 33rd in the Greater Miami Conference with a 52.00 average over 36 holes of competition.

Boys Golf

The Princeton High School boys golf team averaged a 210.5 team score in their two matches last week. On Thursday, August 25th, Jamey Spears and Scott Lawson shot a team-low 50 against Taylor. This season, Princeton has a 220.59 average score over 72 holes of competition. Individually, Lawson ranks 43rd overall in the league with a 51.00 average score. 


In the team’s match against Hamilton, Kai Hannah and Sam Maloney scored 51 and 54 respectively. 

Cheerleading

The cheerleaders brought the Viking spirit on Friday as they supported our student-athletes and coaches during competition. The Vikings engaged the electric crowd to help fuel the home-field advantage.

Girls Soccer

The Princeton girls varsity soccer team defeated Wilmington 2-1 on Tuesday, August 30th, at Princeton High School. The Lady Vikings (1-1) host the Colerain Cardinals on Thursday, September 1st.

Cross Country

The Princeton High School cross country program traveled to Voice of America Park on Saturday, August 27th, to compete in the East Classic. The girls team scored 376 points, and the boys tallied 386 team points.


Junior Emily Johnson led the girls team with a time of 22:37.7 to finish 56th overall. 


Maddie Slagle and Melanie Kessler rounded the Top 80 list. Slagle finished 67th with a time of 23:14.8, and Kessler ran a time of 23:39.2 to place 76th overall.


On the boys side, Declan McGrath paced the Vikings with an 18:00 time to finish 48th overall. Ian Ewing-Jackson placed 79th overall (19:11.0), and Grant Smith finished 98th to finish in the Top 100.

Boys Soccer 

The Princeton boys varsity soccer team lost 2-0 against Milford on Saturday, August 27th at Princeton High School. The Vikings’ defense did a great job slowing down the Eagles’ explosive offense (18 goals in four matches). The Vikings and Eagles remained scoreless until the final third of the second half. Milford was able to convert on two set pieces to secure the win.


Princeton (1-2-0) returns to the pitch on Thursday at Colerain.

Girls Volleyball

After earning the split at the Monroe Tri-Match, the Lady Vikings defeated Yellow Springs 3-0 on Monday, August 29th. 


Caeley Goins led the Vikings with 11 kills and 2 blocks.

 

Aries Hutcherson finished the evening with 4 kills and 2 blocks. Brianna Jones added 2 kills and 2 blocks in the win.

 

Princeton returns to action on Tuesday, August 30th at home against Edgewood.

Boys Water Polo

The Princeton High School boys varsity water polo team went 4-0 at the Napoleon Invitational this past weekend. The Vikings improved their overall record to 10-5.


In the first game, Princeton defeated Napoleon 11-4. Carson McDaniel and Matthew Hardman led the offense with 4 and 3 goals, respectively. Trevor Ehlerding led the team with 4 assists, and Jack McDaniel finished the game with 8 blocks.


Princeton's offense scored 16 goals on 11 assists en route to a 16-6 win over the Mason Comets. Carson McDaniel led the team with 6 goals. Trevor Ehlerding and Matthew Hardman scored 3 goals, and Jake Culter added 2 goals in the win. The Vikings' defense had 11 steals. Matthew Hardman, Mitchell Kessler, and Jack McDaniel all finished with 2 steals in the win. Jack McDaniel recorded 10 blocks in the win.


Matthew Hardman dished out 7 assists in the team's 14-11 shootout victory over Thomas. Carson McDaniel scored 8 goals, and Trevor Ehlerding added 3 goals in the win.


In the final varsity match, Princeton defeated Kilbourne 18-9. The Vikings' offense continued to display great passing as the team recorded 13 assists. Jack McDaniel scored 5 goals to lead the offense.

Girls Water Polo

Football

The Princeton Vikings defeated the Colerain Cardinals 28-0 on Friday, August 26th, to improve their record to 2-0. The Vikings' offense accumulated 374 total yards. The defenses limited the Cardinals to 116 total yards and 0 passing yards.


Quarterback RJ West tossed 3 touchdowns on 12-of-14 passing attempts for 197 yards. Princeton’s rushing attack finished with 177 yards on 41 attempts. Deandre Rutherford ran 65 yards on 8 attempts, including a 23-yard gain.


Riley Woods led the receiving core with 72 yards on 3 catches, including a 65-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter.


The Vikings' defense forced 3 fumbles and recovered 2 in the game. CJ Coleman was credited with a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Breeon Ishmail and Zion Mason forced a fumble, and Donya Borden was credited with the second fumble recovery. Ishmail led the defense with 8 solo tackles. 


Princeton travels to Lakota West on Friday night.

PCMS Boys Soccer -


The Vikings earned the 1-1 tie against Mariemont in their home regular-season opener on Wednesday. Princeton trailed 0-1 after an early first-half goal by the Warriors, but the Vikings never stopped playing hard on the field. In the closing seconds of the game, Princeton was awarded a penalty kick. Alan Vargas Sachez buried the shot to secure the tie for the Vikings.


Princeton hosts Sycamore on Wednesday, August 31st. 


PCMS Girls Soccer -


The Princeton Lady Vikings won their first match of the season at Dayton Christian with a final score of 5-2. Norah Martin scored 2 goals to lead the offense. Naomi Wyant, Kamryn Lowe, and NaVee’ah Benton each scored a goal in the game. Nora Folgelson had a great assist in the win. Princeton had great defense all game.


Princeton hosts Sycamore on Wednesday, August 31st. 


PCMS Volleyball - 


The Lady Vikings 7th and 8th-grade teams defeated Hamilton Garfield on Thursday, August 25th, at Princeton Community Middle School. In the 7th grade game, Claudia Simons and Kierra Woolens led the team with great serves. Erin Thomas played very well as the team’s middle hitter and blocker. In the 8th grade game, the Lady Vikings demonstrated great communication and teamwork to secure the sweep against Garfield. Najah Love-Muhammad led the team with great leadership skills en route to strong execution on offense and defense.

PCMS Football 


The 7th grade Vikings opened up the season with a 30-0 victory against Lakota Ridge. The versatile running attack and tough play up front were the keys to the win. Princeton’s offensive and defensive lines were fantastic. Quarterback Damir Richardson led the potent offense, and Zion Satterwhite ran for 3 touchdowns.


The 8th-grade team lost in a hard-fought contest to Lakota Ridge 12-6. Aiden Turner had a solid game with multiple receptions and a nice defensive interception. Terrance Jones led the team in tackles and rushing yards. He scored the lone touchdown. 



PCMS Cross Country - 


The cross-country program traveled to Talawanda to run in the team’s first race of the season. The girls team finished 6th amongst the competition. Eva Casto led Princeton with an 11th-place finish in a time of 15:18.7. Erin Schutte finished 29th overall in 16:52.6, and Samantha Young placed 41st overall. Also finishing in the Top 50 were Vivian Fields (49th) and Allison Campbell (50th). 


The boys team placed 5th in the field of competition. Lincoln Soots led the Vikings with a 16th place finish in a time of 14:08.9. Austin Young ran the 2-mile course in 14:29.4 to finish 24th overall. Alan Marroquin Velasquez and Jayden Riggsby placed 37th and 38th overall. Also finishing in the Top 50 were Colin Goodall (46th) and Quinn Baker (50th).


Princeton travels to Loveland on Saturday.

PCMS Girls Tennis -


The Lady Vikings tennis program has battled tough against strong competition early on this season. Princeton has showcased great individual skill improvement on all five courts during competition, and the team continues to work hard as they prepare for the next opponent.

Little Vikes Girls Basketball Tryouts - 5th & 6th Grade Girls


The Princeton Girls Basketball program will hold tryouts for their 5th & 6th Grade Girls teams on Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
