Princeton Athletics Hall of Fame

The Princeton Athletics Hall of Fame Committee and Athletic Department are pleased to announce the inductees of the 16th Class into the Athletics Hall of Fame.


The individual inductees include; Natalie Gaenge ('84), Ariana Wilson ('97), Gary Nagel ('80), and Shaun Moss ('90).


In addition, the Committee is thrilled to induct two state championship teams, the 1981 Boys Water Polo Team, and the 1989 Girls Track Team.


This year's inductee class also includes Ron Carpenter ('88) (Elite Athlete), Dan Moody (Coach), and Pat Walden (Lifetime Achievement Award).


The Hall of Fame celebration will kick off during halftime of the Middletown vs. Princeton Varsity Football Game and will conclude with the Inductees' Ceremony on Saturday, October 8th.


Limited event tickets will be available beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 23rd, by visiting www.vikenation.org/tickets.

What's on Campus?

29th Annual Packer Water Polo Classic

The Princeton Boys Water Polo program will host the 29th Annual Packer Water Polo Classic, September 22nd-24th at Princeton High School.

 

Event tickets are available for all three days by visiting www.vikenation.org/tickets.

Girls Tennis Coaches Classic

The Princeton High School girls tennis program will host a flight of the GCTCA Coaches Classic on Saturday, September 24th.

 

The Vikings will host Anderson, Fairfield, and Madeira in the round-robin tournament schedule. 

 

Tennis action will begin at 8:00 AM.

Princeton Cross Country Invite

The Princeton cross country program will host its annual invitational on Saturday, September 24th, at Landmark Christian Campus.

 

The Middle School Girls and Boys races will get the event started at 8:30 AM and 8:55 AM, respectively. At the conclusion of the middle school races, Princeton Administration will celebrate the senior class at 9:30 AM.

 

The High School Girls Open Race will start at 10:00 AM, followed by the High School Boys Open Race at 10:35 AM. Girls Varsity will run at 11:10 AM, and the Boys Varsity race will conclude the event at 11:45 AM.

Fans of the Week

Fans of the Week - Norma and Richard Martin


Norma is a PHS Alum from the Class of 1976. She was on the Drill Team and a member of A Cappella. Richard graduated from Princeton in 1977 and played on the football team his freshman and sophomore years. These high school sweethearts love cheering on the Vikes!  Their children and grandchildren are also proud Vikings!

Greater Miami Conference

Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to Amari Wilson, Leah Bracknell, Zion Mason, and Lily Sharpshair on receiving Greater Miami Conference Athlete of the Week honors.


Amari Wilson and Leah Bracknell are seniors on the tennis team. Last week, the doubles duo finished 2-0 with victories over Hamilton (6-2, 6-0) and Cincinnati Country Day (6-3, 6-3).


Zion Mason is a senior on the football team. He had a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown against Lakota West. He also had 2 kickoff returns for 35 yards and 4 tackles on defense.


Lily Sharpshair is a freshman on the volleyball team. She had a 90% service percentage and 12 digs for the week.

Jersey Mike’s Above and Beyond

Athlete of the Week Honors

Congratulations to Alexys Grause, Nigel Adjei-Mensah, Emily Johnson, and Amare Thomas on receiving Jersey Mike’s Above and Beyond Athlete of the Week honors.


Alexys Grause is a junior on the volleyball team. Her leadership and communication earned her the spot of playing libero this week and led her team to a win against Stivers on Saturday.


Nigel Adjei-Mensah is a junior on the cross country team. He had a lifetime PR of 21:53 at the Eaton Invitational last week. Nigel continues to work hard and improve each day.


Emily Johnson is a junior on the cross country team. She is the fastest runner on the girls team and organizes the other juniors to put together a very special day for our seniors at our home meet. She took on this project voluntarily, and has been doing a great job.


Amare Thomas is a senior on the football team. He is one of the hardest working players on the team that does his job. He puts in the extra time to continue to be an integral part of the defensive line.

Highlights from 9/14 - 9/20

Cross Country

The Princeton Cross Country program raced at the Eaton Invitational on Saturday, September 17th. The boys team finished the 5K course with a team time of 1:44:37 to earn 268 total points.


Declan McGrath led the team with a 55th-place finish in a time of 19:38.1. Ian Ewing-Jackson placed 59th overall (19:52.5), and Andrew Dunlap finished 66th (21:00.9). Rounding the scoring for the Vikings were Nigel Adjei-Mensah (72nd / 21:53.7), Mark Whitener (74th / 22:11.4), Donovan Kemp (77th / 22:25.7), and Jordan Blake (86th / 25:18.7).


On the girls' side, the Lady Vikings scored 176 points with a team time of 1:58:50. Princeton had 5 runners finish in the Top 50 of the race.

Emily Johnson led the team with a 23rd-place finish in a time of 22:23.5. Maddie Slagie and Melanie Kessler placed 33rd and 36th overall, respectively.


Makenna Carrigan ran a time of 24:42.4 to finish 49th, and Lauren Burns finished 50th overall.


Gloria Dunlap placed 55th, and Raune Hannah finished 71st in the field of competition.

On Saturday, the Princeton Cross Country team raced in the Mason Cross Country Invite at Corwin-Nixon Park. The girls team finished with a time of 2:18:07 with two Top 100 placers. Emily Johnson placed 60th overall with a time of 23:24.9, and Melanie Kessler finished 96th with a time of 24:41.3. 


The boys team finished the 5K race in 1:45:36. The Vikings had two Top 100 placers. Ian Ewing-Jackson finished 84th (19:55.7) and Grant Smith finished 85th (19:55.9).

Princeton will race again on Saturday at the Eaton Invitational.

Girls Tennis

The Lady Vikings tennis program will host a flight of the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association on Saturday, September 24th. Tennis will begin at 8:00 AM.


The Vikings will host Talawanda on Monday, September 26th, before competing at the Greater Miami Conference Tournament on Thursday, September 29th, at Mason Tennis Courts. Tournament action will begin at 8:00 AM.

Girls Golf

The Princeton girls golf team scored 999 at the Greater Miami Conference Golf Championships at Walden Ponds Golf Course on September 13th and 14th.


London Harris shot a team-best 229 to finish 38th overall. Sophi Roberts finished 40th overall with a 232, and Ariana Watson placed 44th with a two-day score of 254. Rounding the scoring for the Lady Vikings was Alexis Huwel. She placed 45th overall with a 284 score.


On Thursday, September 15th, Princeton defeated Ross 241-245 at Grand Oak Golf Club. London Harris shot a 57, and Alexis Huwel shot a personal best, 59.

Boys Golf

The Princeton Vikings competed at the 2022 GMC Boys Golf Tournament at Walden Ponds Golf Club on Tuesday, September 20th.

Girls Soccer

The Princeton Lady Vikings soccer team defeated Trotwood-Madison on Tuesday, September 20th, at Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium. Princeton improves to 2-5-2 overall.


Senior Reagan Reed currently leads the team with 2 goals. Senior Mia Runyan has scored 1 goal and team-best 2 assists over the first 8 games of the season. Sophomore Katelyn Tracey has 29 saves in goal and a 52% save percentage.  


Princeton will host Lakota West on Thursday, September 22nd, for senior night. Princeton Administration will recognize the senior class prior to the varsity game.

Boys Soccer

The Princeton boys soccer team finished up the week with a 1-1-1 record. The Vikings (4-3-1, 3-1) defeated Oak Hills on senior night, 2-1.


Senior Will Oliver scored the game-winning goal in the second half. 

 

Princeton's first goal came in the first half off the foot of Emanuel Harris, his fourth goal of the season.

 

Aiden Billiter and Parker Evans were credited with the assists. Defensively, Edwin Barrera finished the game with 4 saves.


The Vikings tied Harrison 1-1 on Saturday, September 17th. The lone goal was off the foot of Landon Brooks. Andreas Salinas was credited with the assist, and Edwin Barrera recorded 4 saves in net.


Princeton travels to Lakota West on Thursday night and to Kings on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings' next home match is Thursday, September 29th, versus Lakota East.

Cheerleading

Girls Volleyball

Princeton finished last week’s competition with wins over Northwest and Stivers School for the Arts. The Lady Vikings are currently 6-7 overall and 1-3 in the Greater Miami Conference. 


Senior Caeley Goins currently leads the team with 13 kills and 43 passes. Freshman Lily Sharpshair leads the team with 24 digs and 4 service aces, and senior Brooklyn Leach leads the team with 31 assists. Natalie Williams has a team-best 24 total serves, and senior Aries Hutcherson has 5 of the team’s 15 blocks.

Boys Water Polo

The Princeton Vikings host St. Xavier High School on Wednesday, September 21st in a battle amongst the top teams in the region. 


Beginning on Thursday, Princeton Water Polo will host the 29th Annual Packer Classic. Tournament action will run through Saturday, September 24th.

Girls Water Polo

The Lady Vikings traveled to Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend to participate in the annual Ohio Cup Tournament. Princeton defeated the Hawks 13-2, finishing the weekend with a 1-5 record. 


Senior Ava Sharpshair has been nominated for Girls Water Polo Player of the Week after her individual performance in goal at the Ohio Cup. She recorded 8 saves in the 6-7 loss to Mason in game three of the tournament.

Football

The Princeton Vikings lost to Lakota West 31-7 on Friday night to drop their record to 4-1 overall, and 3-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.


Zion Mason returned a punt 92 yards for the Vikings touchdown score. Will Oliver was good on the extra point.

PCMS Golf 

The Princeton Vikings hosted Mason on Monday afternoon. Alex Virrey Magana birdied Hole 6 to highlight the round. His tee shot just missed from an ace!

PCMS Boys Soccer -

The Vikings defeated Winton Woods 4-0 on Monday evening to improve their overall record to 2-4-1. Alex Campos Teran scored 2 quick goals in the first 10 minutes of play. Princeton scored two more goals late in the first half, off the feet of Cesar Torres and Jameson Holloway.


Mo Holloway and Ben Rosen earned the team’s second shutout of the season.

PCMS Girls Soccer -

The Lady Vikings are currently 4-1-1 overall. This past Saturday, Princeton tied Seven Hills in a very tough match, 2-2. The goals were scored by Kamryn Lowe and Addison Carrigan. Princeton followed up with a 9-0 win against Winton Woods. Kiki Harris, Nora Martin, Naveah Benton, Olivia Leung, Alissa Pates, and Jayda Johnson all scored in a great team win!

PCMS Volleyball - 

The 7th Grade Vikings have won four consecutive matches to improve their season record to 5-5. Princeton defeated Colerain, Delhi, White Oak, and Creekside over the four-game stretch.


The 8th Grade Vikings have won three of their last four matches and are currently 5-5 on the season. Najah Love-Muhammad had outstanding net play, Chanel Olverson showcased outstanding hustle and communication, and Trysta Leach did a very nice job with setting up the Vikings’ attack.

PCMS Football 

The 7th Grade Vikings enter the bye week with a 4-1 overall record. Princeton defeated Hopewell 40-8, and Colerain 32-6 in their recent games. In the last three games, Princeton is averaging 34 points per game, and the defense has allowed just 4.6 points per game.


The 8th Grade Vikings enter the bye week with a 2-3 overall record. Princeton defeated Hopewell 22-8 and lost to Colerain 36-12.


Both teams return to action on Thursday, September 29th, at home against Fairfield.

PCMS Cross Country - 

The running Vikings just finished up a tough stretch in their schedule, racing on four days over the past 8 days. On Monday, the team ran at the Vic Roberts Invitational hosted by Lakota Plains. Quinn Baker set a new PR of 16:26. Eva Casto led the girls team with a 16:13 finish. On the boys' side, Lincoln Soots ran 14:49 to lead the team.


Princeton returns to action on Saturday as they host the annual Princeton Invitational at 8:30 AM at Landmark Athletic Complex.

PCMS Girls Tennis -

The Lady Vikings will host Rapid Run on Thursday, before traveling to Nagel on Monday, September 26th. Princeton will conclude their regular season schedule with an away match against Lakota Plains on Tuesday, September 27th. The Greater Miami Conference Girls Tennis Tournament will be held on Monday, October 3rd, at Mason Tennis Complex.


Little Vikes Girls Basketball Tryouts

Grades 5 & 6

Little Vikes Girls Basketball Tryouts - 5th & 6th Grade Girls


The Princeton Girls Basketball program will hold tryouts for their 5th & 6th Grade Girls teams on Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.


The tryouts will be held in the Arena of Viking Village (150 Viking Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246). Please contact Coach Ryan with any questions, [email protected].

Lacrosse Clinic - Grades 3-12


The Princeton Lacrosse program will hold Fall clinics on Tuesday evenings, 5:00 to 6:00 PM, on the grass field behind the Stadium.

Princeton Staff Golf League


The Tri-County Golf Ranch will host its first Princeton Fall Golf League that will be open to Princeton Administration and Teachers. The weekly league will be played on Wednesdays beginning October 5th at 5:00 PM. Please contact Dani at the course with any questions, [email protected].
