Get ready. Get set. Start reading!

Hello!

I’m Kristin Conran, and I’m excited to join the team here as the Director of Institutional Advancement at Archbishop Wood.  I’m rooted in Greater Philadelphia and have spent my career blending media sales leadership with meaningful contributions to the non-profit sector. With a degree in Journalism, PR, and Advertising from Temple University, I’ve spent 15 years as a sales leader at notable media companies like Philly.com and Metro Philadelphia. Nine years ago I was driven by a desire to make a greater impact, I earned my Certificate in Fundraising from Villanova University, which opened the door to my work in non-profit development. I’ve had the privilege of working as Major Gift Director at Bishop McDevitt High School, as Development Director with The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and Chester County Council, Boy Scouts of America. In these roles, I’ve combined creative problem-solving with strategic relationship-building to drive successful fundraising initiatives.

One of the core reasons I feel so excited to work at Archbishop Wood is my strong belief in the value of Catholic education. I am passionate about the way Catholic schools shape both minds and hearts, fostering not only academic excellence but also a deep sense of moral purpose and community. Catholic education builds a foundation that students carry with them for life—instilling values, nurturing faith, and inspiring service. I have seen this with my 2 sons: Jack graduated from McDevitt in 2020 and Harry graduated from Wood in 2023.

Throughout my career, I’ve been known for my dedication, creativity, and ability to deliver impactful results. At Archbishop Wood, I’m especially excited to strengthen our outreach, foster community engagement, and support our institution’s growth in new, innovative ways. It’s a true blessing to work with a dedicated team and be part of an organization with such a strong legacy and vision.

This is a truly inspiring time for all of us at Archbishop Wood, and I look forward to making a lasting impact here. Please feel free to reach out , I’d love to learn more about you! I can be reached at kristin.conran@archwood.org to set up a time to talk.

Warm regards,

Kristin Conran

ALGEBRA & BIG FOOT!

Students in Mrs. Morton’s Algebra 2 classes used scatterplots and lines of best fit to determine the size trap they would need to capture Big Foot.

They needed to create a graph comparing the foot length and the height of 8 different people. They used that graph to determine a line of best fit to the data and used a photo of a Big Foot’s footprint to determine how tall he is and therefore how big the trap needs to be to catch him.

Scatterplots and Lines of Best Fit can be used to analyze data trends and make predictions. The goal of this unit was to understand how to use these mathematical tools to estimate values that are not explicitly provided in a data set.
