Dear Villa Parents,
As you are already aware, out of an abundance of caution, school is closed to students all of next week (March 16 – 20) so that we can collectively do our part to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. Thus we anticipate families may be in need of support with childcare during the school closure. In an effort to support you we are compiling a list of staff members who would like to provide outside services during this time.
Please contact the Villa front desk at
(option 2, option 1) if you are in need of support. We will then share withyou contact information of individuals that are making themselves available.
While any arrangements made between individual staff members and families (that are privately agreed to) are not the responsibility of Villa, our staff have been reminded that school confidentiality policies remain in full effect.
Additionally, due to the contagious nature of the Coronavirus, we have communicated to the staff that they are to limit theiroutside work to a single household only and not to offer or provide childcare to groups of children from separate households. We are working to follow the direction of subject matter experts, and gatherings of children could mitigate the positive impact we hope to have on the spread of the virus by temporarily closing the school.
News of the virus is changing rapidly so please stay tuned on future plans that may impact the reopening of school.
Preventative Measures to Observe
According to the CDC, coronavirus is spread mainly through person-to-person contact. It’s believed that people who are in close contact (within 6 feet of one another) are most likely to spread it.
Stay 6 feet away from others when possible- avoid group gatherings- especially children
Frequently sanitize/ wipe off surfaces
Practice good hygiene,
such as washing your hands for at least 20 seconds
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Sneeze or cough into your elbow or a tissue and promptly throw away
Use alternate greetings that minimize physical contact: bows, nods, elbow bumps
Avoid food sharing
We are all in this together and as always I know the Villa community will rise to the occasion and make this a productive week. Please continue to check your email for updates. More to come.
