Salesian Sister Corner
Sr. Marie Fe Tansioco, FMA, was born in Hawaii and moved around with her military family, finally settling in Virginia. There, Sr. Marie Fe received an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her Master's in Economics from Fordham University.
In 2015, she worked in Washington, DC as an economist during the Bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco. She "met" Don Bosco when visiting his relic at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
She also met Fr. Joseph Doran, SDB, who shared with her the spirituality of Don Bosco. Sr. Marie Fe always enjoyed working with young people, teaching religious education, and leading youth groups. She felt God wanted more from her and she answered the call becoming a Salesian Sister on August 5, 2019.
Sr. Marie Fe says, "You never know where God is going to take you! Be ready for the adventure!" And her adventure brought her to Villa Madonna where this year she is teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra, 7th-grade Math, 8th-grade Religion, TV Studio, and coaches Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball.
Every day she also goes to the Salesian Youth Center Boys & Girls Club to be a Salesian presence. She plays with the kids, and tutors them in math and reading, helping them to become who God calls them to be.
You can connect with Sr. Marie Fe by email.
