Villa Summer Happenings
Welcome back to school!

I hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful break! The summer months were busy at the Villa with camps, events, activities, and campus renovations.

It has been wonderful to see all the students happily transitioning to their new classrooms and routines. The new school year is starting off smoothly and I'm certain it is going to be another great year at St. Ursula Villa!
St. Ursula Villa welcomed 47 new families to our school and hosted a New Parent Orientation as an opportunity for new parents to learn more about the Villa as well as meet Villa Ambassadors, administrators, and other new parents.
More than 300 campers enjoyed many ways to learn and play at our Villa Summer Camps. Themed camps included a visit from Cincinnati Observatory, a performance of the mini-musical "Stone Soup", a week-long Clay Pottery Camp, and a class preparing for the High School Entrance Exam.
You will see some new faces in classrooms and hallways as we welcome new faculty and staff. Shown are (left to right) Chrissy Thurner, 2nd Grade; Jackie Lakey, Assistant to the Principal; Nicole Schmidt, Montessori C; Kate Durso, Intermediate Assistant; Betsy Stadnik, Nurse; Elisabeth Mapes, 5th Grade; Ellen Schulkens, Band & Music.
During the Meet & Greet, parents and students visited classrooms, met teachers, and reconnected with classmates, and Junior High students helped create tasty treats at the Ice Cream Sundae Bar.
Summer facility projects included replacing the roof of the MPR and Main School office, repairing the Villa Way stone stairs and Manor House parapet wall, and repaving asphalt surfaces around the school. We are grateful to the Villa Boosters and Villa Parents Organization for generously helping to fund the much-improved driveways and parking areas!
Faculty and staff enjoyed a break from in-service training and preparations for the new year with a lovely luncheon and "welcome back to school" gifts provided by the VPO.
