Resident Poetry
Friends are always happy
Doing things for us
Friends are good to keep by your side to laugh with
To tell stories with
It’s fun to have them around
They help when you need them
I like friends if they are friends, you like a friend
You don’t like an enemy whatever age that is
We enjoy them
Friends are always very special
Where you are, if it’s a friend,
you like a friend.
My mom was very special
My sister and I were the best dressed in school
She had music playing in the dining room
I don’t see her
She was doing what she could
I loved her
Happy days are here again
I like the sun on my skin
I like the warmth is brings
Sometimes things are difficult
Sometimes tough
The weather is life
The weather is!

Caregiver Hotline

Depression. Exhaustion. Burnout. Stress. Those are just some of the words people are using to describe their experiences as caregivers.

Helping care for a family member or loved one can be hard work. People don't often talk about the emotional toll it can take on the actual caregiver.

Receive immediate help from the Caregiver Help Desk by calling 1-855-227-3640.

You can also chat with them on  or email them on that same site.
Dear Caregiver,

In collaboration with the  Santa Barbara County Community Caregiving Initiative  I would like to invite you to participate in an important County-wide survey about caregiving. The information you provide is extremely valuable and will be used to help our community and caregivers like you!

The survey will ask about the person you're caring for. It's also going to ask about you and your experiences caring for that person. Your answers will be used to improve services to family caregivers across the county and evaluate the efforts of the Community Caregiving Initiative.

As a way of saying thank you, all caregivers who complete the survey will receive a  $5.00 electronic gift card to either Starbucks or Amazon.

The best and fastest way to participate is by completing the survey online. Please click on the link below:

Thank you for helping us improve services to family caregivers in Santa Barbara!
