Village Board Meeting Dec. 22
|
The Village Board will meet Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams and broadcast live on the Village's YouTube channel and Channel 6. Monday is the Last Day to File Petitions for Candidacy for Village President and Village Trustee
|
|
Monday, Dec. 21 is the final day to file petitions with the Village Clerk at Village Hall. Village Hall is open Monday for this purpose from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Monday, from 4 to 5 p.m., petitions are to be dropped off in the first floor lobby of Village Hall. Until further notice, Village Hall will remain closed for all other services. Visit our website for more information.

COVID-19 Update: Vaccines, Wilmette Cases and Resources
|
|
This week, the State of Illinois announced that it received the first shipment of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, which included 43,000 doses and the State is expecting more in the coming weeks. The vast majority of doses in this shipment will be delivered to Regional Hospital Coordination Centers around the state that will serve as pickup locations for local health departments to begin distribution to health care workers in their jurisdictions, with the remaining portion going directly to predetermined local health departments.

COVID-19 Testing
COVID-19 in Wilmette:
- As of Dec. 17, Wilmette's seven-day rolling average of confirmed daily cases is 7.6 new cases per day. To date, Wilmette has had 947 confirmed cases and nine residents have died of complications related to COVID-19.
- As of Dec. 17, Wilmette's seven-day rolling average for test positivity (percentage of those tested who test positive for COVID-19) is at 5.7%. In the last week, there have been 53 new cases and 929 new tests.

Services Update: Refuse & Recycling, Food & Yard Waste
|
|
Due to the upcoming holidays, normal refuse and recycling collection schedules will be impacted the week of Christmas (Dec. 21 – Dec. 27) and New Year’s (Dec. 28 – Jan. 3). Refuse and recycling collection on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday will not be impacted. Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by a day for the homes that have Friday collections on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The Village’s weekly food and yard waste collections concluded at the end of November and will resume the first week of April 2021. While the Village composting program is paused, residents who are interested in composting through the winter have a variety of programs and haulers that they can take advantage of! Village offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas Holiday.
