Thanksgiving Service Updates
  • Village offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Thursday and Friday trash/recycling/yard waste collection services will be delayed by one day (Thursday collection on Friday, Friday collection on Saturday).
Village Hall Closed to In-Person Visits Beginning Next Week

As of Monday, Nov. 30, Village Hall will be closed to in-person visits until further notice. The Village made this decision to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, employees and community based on guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), which recommends limiting in-person interactions to prevent exposure and spread of COVID-19.

Last Week of Leaf Collection Next Week

Next week (week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 4) is the last week of Village leaf collection services. All leaves are down due to recent cold temperatures and high winds, so the Village does not plan to extend leaf collection beyond Dec. 4.

Please remember to have your leaves raked to the curb by 7 a.m. on the first day of your collection window. More information and detailed guidelines available here.
Please Do Your Part - Celebrate Thanksgiving Safely
Like many things this year, how we celebrate Thanksgiving will look a little different. Public health officials and State guidance recommend that we celebrate Thanksgiving with only our households this year. Follow these measures for a safer celebration.
Think Local First This Small Business Saturday!

Small Business Saturday - the #ShopLocal version of Black Friday - is coming up this weekend! This year more than ever, Wilmette businesses need us to show our support with our wallets. How can you think local first this holiday season? Consider buying holiday gifts at local shops instead of the online giants, giving gift cards to local restaurants or services or simply ordering takeout (let someone else handle the cooking and dishes!).

Support Local Charities During the 12 Days of Giving (Back)!

With so many people in need, Village is partnering with local businesses to offer 12 Days of Giving. Starting this week, you can help support local charities by shopping at local participating merchants who will donate a portion of their proceeds to District 39 Educational Foundation, Woman's Club of Wilmette, The Wilmette Theatre, and Family Service Center.
