French Market to Reopen June 6 with Safety Guidelines

The Wilmette French Market will reopen this Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first hour of the market has been reserved for seniors and those at high risk. To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread through close contact, the market will have one-way traffic moving north to south. Please adhere to the safety guidelines outlined below - and happy shopping!

Safety and COVID-19 Prevention Remain Top Priorities in Phase 3

Under Phase 3 of the Governor's five-phase reopening plan, more businesses are open and some restrictions have loosened, but most health and safety precautions from Phase 2 remain. Please do your part to help our region and the state move into the next phase of reopening:
  • Face coverings in public continue to be required.
  • While gathering in groups of 10 or fewer individuals are permitted, physical distance must be maintained. At least six feet should be maintained between non-household individuals unless participating in activities permitted under Phase 3 guidelines (e.g. haircuts).
  • Reservations only (no walk-ins) for fitness centers, bars/restaurants, salons, barbershops, etc.
  • Continue to maintain good hygiene: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Visit the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) for more information about preventing COVID-19 spread where we live, work, learn and play.

To help all of us navigate the reopening of businesses, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has provided Phase 3 business guidelines for specific industries. For information on Phase 3 business opening guidelines, visit our website
2020 Census: Everyone Counts!

Did you know the first census in 1790 established the principle of "usual residence" for counting people where they live and sleep most of the time? That means everyone in your household - roommates, older adults, young children, and everyone in between - needs to be counted. Your household's census reply will help fund hospitals, social services, public health, schools, construction projects and more for the next 10 YEARS! Fill out your census online at www.2020census.gov

Here are some tips to help you know where you and everyone in your household should be counted in the 2020 Census.

We're only 1.4% away from beating our 2010 response rate! We've got this, Wilmette!
