Last Call for Public Comment on Zoning Code Update

The Village of Maple Bluff is currently requesting public input on the draft of the updated Zoning Code, which has been developed over the past 18-months by the Zoning Steering Committee. Please visit the link below to find additional information. The Village does not have a redlined version of the current Zoning Code, as this was a complete re-write.

If you have any ideas, comments, or questions for the Steering Committee, please submit them via email to info@villageofmaplebluff.com. Please use the subject line, "Zoning Code Comment" to ensure your feedback is properly categorized.

The Steering Committee will meet again December 2 at 4:00pm to finalize the draft, which will then be presented to the Plan Commission in conjunction with a Public Hearing for consideration, before the updated Zoning Code is formally adopted by the Village Board. Your input is valued and encouraged during these final phases of the process.

ZONING ORDINANCE UPDATE

Yard Waste Collections

Our Public Works department conducts weekly yard waste collections every Monday morning, continuing until we complete the entire bluff. Please be aware that the only exception to this schedule may occur during the week of Thanksgiving.

Collection Guidelines:

  • Separation of Materials: Please ensure that you separate unlike materials, such as sticks, leaves, and dirt. This practice will greatly assist in the efficiency of our collection process.
  • Placement of Yard Waste: Do not place yard waste around mailboxes, poles, or fire hydrants, as this can hinder our collection efforts.
  • Access for Collection: Be mindful that if you or a contractor are parked in front of your yard waste pile, we will not be able to collect it.

Environmental Considerations:

To protect our lakes, please place your yard waste on the terrace, not in the road. Placing material in the road can lead to several issues, including:

  • Blocking storm drains
  • Causing debris to wash into the lakes

We encourage you to support our initiative for cleaner streets by visiting www.ripple-effects.com/Leaf-free-streets.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our community clean and environmentally friendly!
