Municipal Center Hours
Municipal Center hours have been enforced 8:00am - 4:30pm, Mon-Fri. The building will remain locked at all other times.
Absentee voting is available during the above building hours in the Community Room.
The vestibule off of the main entrance will remain accessible for payments, emergency contact with PD, etc.
Closures
Senior Outreach Services

Minimizing Toilet Paper Alternatives
As area residents have made preparations for staying home for long periods of time over the past few days, we know stores have run out of household essentials, particularly toilet paper. While alternative products are available, such as baby wipes and so-called "flushable" wipes, the McFarland Public Works Department, in conjunction with the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, asks that residents  do not  flush these products. These products do not break down in the sewer system and can cause blockages in your home’s sewer system, the overall collection system, lift stations and at the wastewater treatment plant. Only the three Ps — pee, poo and toilet paper — should be flushed.

McFarland Police Department
The Police Dept. has released a statement regarding their services during the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as a memo regarding direct seller permits.

The Village is Strongly Encouraging Voters to Vote Absentee by Mail
An Election Update from our Village Clerk:

As of 3:45pm on March 19th, we have issued 1591 absentee ballots. That is 27.02% of registered voters in the Village.
A BIG thank you to every single one of you who have answered our call to help us “flatten the curve,” and vote absentee. I would continue to urge residents to consider voting absentee. As I said in my previous memo, the majority of our poll workers here in the Village have been identified as higher risk individuals. We will have extremely limited resources on Election Day. Every ballot we can deal with ahead of time, is one less person on Election Day.

A Message From Our Village Administrator
All Village Standing Committee Meetings Canceled Through April
This message is to inform you that all Village Standing Committee meetings through the end of April are hereby cancelled. Items requiring action by Standing Committees will be addressed by the Village Board during this time and items of non-action will be deferred to future meetings. This includes the following groups:
  • Communications and Technology Committee
  • Emergency Management Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Parks, Recreation, & Natural Resources Committee
  • Personnel Committee
  • Public Safety Committee
  • Public Utilities Committee
  • Public Works Committee
  • Senior Outreach Services Committee
  • Volunteer Committee
 
All other boards, commissions, and committees not named above may have a meeting during this time period if the need for the meeting is essential. For those groups not named, please await direction from your Chair and Staff Support regarding the potential for a future meeting between now and the end of April. Non-essential meetings for all groups during this time period will be avoided to the extent practical.
 
We thank and appreciate everyone’s service to our boards, commissions, and committees. We could not be the special Community that we are without you; however, in the interest of safety for you and those from the public that may attend these meetings we are canceling these meetings to help limit the spread of the virus. This remains a very fluid emergency situation with challenges that are constantly evolving. We will keep you apprised of any further directions or extensions of these directives.
