The 2024 budget season is underway, and the first action taken by the Village Council last month was to ensure there will be no property tax rate increase in the next budget.

In a unanimous vote, the Council voted to set next year’s maximum possible tax rate equal to this year’s rate. As a result, when the final budget is approved next month, the tax rate can’t be more than it is today.

When the Village Council meets next month to review and approve the budget, they have the option to approve a property tax rate equal to or lower than the current rate.

Village property values on the rise

Property values are on the rise in the Village. According to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser, the Village has seen an increase in property values of more than 20% as compared to the previous year.

This doesn’t mean your specific property value increased by that much. It means the total value of all the properties in the Village increased year-to-year by that amount. According to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser to total value of all the properties in the Village (both residential and commercial) is approximately $307 million dollars.

"John is one of the hardest working individuals in the Village of Golf. Operating a water plant and sewer collection system requires attention 24/7 and John gives it his all. When a hurricane is coming, John is camped out at the water plant to make sure any power interruptions are handled immediately, and the continuation of water and sewer service goes uninterrupted. We don’t often realize what goes into the product that comes out of our spigot and meets the highest standards set by the health department. John makes it look easy."

"Al fresco" seating approved by Village Council

OK...we know right now it's about 100 degrees in the shade, and not the best conditions for eating raw fish outside. However, when the heat breaks, you soon will be able to enjoy new outdoor seating at the local sushi restaurant a few doors down from Publix.

The Village Council gave approval for Sushi Yama to begin outdoor seating.

How are your trees?

REMINDER: Hurricane season started June 1. Now is the time to complete your vegetation trimming. Once a storm threatens, it’s too late to trim trees. It’s best to make a year-round tree trimming plan a part of your hurricane season preparations to minimize property damage and help our community quickly return to normal after a storm passes.

TREE HEIGHT: Speaking of tree trimming, we also ask that you check the height of your trees over the roadways. Your tree canopy should be at least 14 feet above the road. If it is lower than 14 feet, it may pose a safety concern and be struck by passing trucks. Please ask your tree trimmer to make sure your trees are high enough above the road.

We're not doing very well at this...again!

The Village was notified we are once again not properly separating our recycling. Regular garbage is being tossed in the recycling bins!

If you have items that can't be recycled, there are smaller trash cans you should use.

Click here for details on what can be recycled.

Please remember the large container on Country Road South is ONLY FOR BULK ITEMS, and can only be used BY OUR RESIDENTS.

Your landscapers CAN NOT place yard debris in the container. They must take all their yard waste with them.

We have security cameras monitoring the container and we will track down violators.
