I love this time of year! It feels like just about every day another friend stops by the office to let us know they have returned for the season.

It's great to reconnect with our neighbors as they arrive to share the beautiful winter season.

As we see more people in the Village, this is a good time to remind everyone we should have your most accurate contact information. We will be working on this year's resident directory, and need to ensure everything is right.

Please contact my office if you are a new resident, returning resident with new information, or a full-time resident with a change to contact details. If nothing has changed since the last directory there is no need to call.

Meanwhile, if you haven't yet stopped in to say hello, we would love to see you. And remember, we always have chocolate!

MEET OUR TEAM

Meet Kristi Boling

We are excited to share our next edition of our new campaign "SERVICE PROVIDED - PAR EXCELLENCE," introducing the men and women who work for our Village.

This month, meet: KRISTI BOLING, Assistant Village Clerk.

How long have you worked in the Village of Golf?

  • One year and five months.

Can you briefly describe the work you do for the Village?

  • One of the greatest joys of my job is the variety of responsibilities. As Assistant Village Clerk, I work on everything from building permit applications to water billing, logistics during council meetings to assisting with mail delivery.

What do you like most about your job?

  • I know many people enjoy working in local government to help residents, but one of the greatest joys of working here is the close, personal contact we have. It's a pleasure and a privilege to be able to know almost everyone who comes into the office seeking assistance. The entire village is like a large extended family.

What can be the most challenging thing about your job?

  • Sometimes wearing a lot of hats means having to handle multiple high urgency tasks all at once.

What is something in your personal life you are most proud of?

  • This was the easiest question to answer. I am blessed to have six children, between ages five and 17 that provide an endless supply of pride and joy in my life.

Do you have a message for Village residents?

  • I always look forward to seeing and helping everyone who comes into the office. When you have any questions or need assistance, please give me a call or stop by.

"Kristi joined us in April of last year and is a wonderful addition to the team here in Administration. Her upbeat manner and positive attitude make the customer service experience quite enjoyable. She is eager to learn everything she can about the Village and its residents and has proven to be an invaluable asset. She manages telephone inquiries, permit questions, processes mail requests for residents and became a Notary so she can provide that service as well. Kristi has a bright future here in the Village."

Renew your car registration right here in Golf

A new "MV Express" kiosk is now located in the Publix at the Shoppes at Village of Golf.

The kiosk is a convenient way to renew and print your motor vehicle registration and decal on the spot in a matter of minutes. To renew your vehicle registration, you will need a registration renewal notice PIN or your plate number and the date of birth of the first registered owner.

The Village of Golf is only one of nine locations in Palm Beach County to receive the new machines.

Make sure your voice matters in Nov.

The General Election is only two months away and this is when you should make sure you're properly registered.

Some important dates to keep in mind:

  • Deadline to register to vote: Monday, October 7, 2024.
  • Early Voting: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., October 21, 2024 - November 3, 2024.
  • Deadline to request that a Vote-by-Mail ballot be mailed to you: 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
  • Deadline to return your Vote-by-Mail ballot to the Main Office of the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections: 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
  • Election Day: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The rules regarding requesting Vote-by-Mail ballots have changed. It could be a good idea to double check if a request for a Vote-by-Mail ballot has been properly received. Here's a link to the Supervisor of Elections website: Vote-by-Mail Information

If you are registered to vote at your Village of Golf address, your Election Day polling place is Village Hall.

Time to power wash your roof and driveways

The start of Fall is a perfect time to clean your roof and driveway. Remember, you're required to clean them throughout the year.

Time is almost up

The annual construction period ends October 31. With no storm delays this season, an extension of the season is not expected. Make sure your contractor knows the deadline.

You can do exterior work 7am - 7pm until October 31. You may do interior work 7am - 5pm until December 15.

Slow down for safety

The start of the season is here, and that means more drivers...and more walkers across the Village.

The speed limit inside the Village is 25 miles per hour. We know this feels slow, but remember our roads are narrow, we have no sidewalks, and plenty of our neighbors are sharing the roadways walking dogs and getting exercise.

To enforce the speed limit, we have mobile radar set up at various locations in the Village. If you're caught speeding by our radar, you could lose your gate transponder.
