Village Grant Seeds Free Community Garden at Indiantown Civic Club Park

The Village of Indiantown awarded the Indiantown Civic Club a $5,000 grant through the Indiantown Community Trust Fund to help create a free community garden.

There will be 20 gardening plots available to reserve after January 2021. The plots are free and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Reservations and registration with Master Gardener Marisol Alers are required. Plots will be ready for planting as early as March.



Village Adopts Land Development Regulations
Interactive Zoning Map Coming Soon

The Village of Indiantown is taking shape with its first comprehensive Land Development Regulation (LDR) plan that refines and establishes its own zoning and building codes. The Village council adopted the new codes on November 12, 2020, after months of public meetings and workshops. The Village LDR sets development guidelines, building codes and design standards for future growth within Village boundaries. Coming soon: you will be able to enter an address in the web-based GIS system to learn about its regulations.

This meeting will be held at the new Village Hall at 15516 SW Osceola St., Ste. C, Indiantown, FL 34956, unless otherwise noted. Please be advised that some members of the Village Council may be appearing via Zoom. There will be limited occupancy due to social distancing requirements. Overflow participants can participate via Zoom.

Chamber's Christmas Parade Brings Santa Claus to Town
Saturday, December 12
Parade begins at 5 p.m.

This year the parade will begin at Big Mound Park and end at the Indiantown Civic Center with photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cookies and juice, Christmas stories around the fire, an art contest, and more.

Two Mosquito Control Clean-ups Scheduled This Month
Health Department Issues West Nile Advisory
Two Indiantown community clean-ups will be held this month to control mosquito breeding. The first one will be held on Saturday, December 5 at Post Family Park and the other on Saturday, December 19 at Booker Park. Both events are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The clean-up events, made possible through a state grant to Martin County Mosquito Control, focus on cleaning up and collecting waste containers, tires, and litter along roadways within the surrounding neighborhoods. Volunteers for the events are coordinated by Keep Martin Beautiful. Read more >

Indiantown's Thelma Waters Selected to Florida Women's Hall of Fame
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the selection of Ethel Thelma Waters of Indiantown to the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame. Each year, the governor selects three nominees from recommendations presented by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women (FCSW). The nominees exemplify the great diversity of women’s contributions to Florida life.

Waters is among the best and brightest in our community and we are very proud of her honor.

Officials Join Community in Groundbreaking of Casa Bella Apartments
Development was First Site Plan Approved By Village
The Village of Indiantown approved Atway & Sehayik Development Group’s (ASDG) site plan for Casa Bella Apartments a year ago and, last month, the community celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony. Casa Bella Apartments consists of a single story 8,000 square foot residential and commercial live/work apartment building. The half-acre development is slated for 10 apartments available for rent.

“We are ripe for development. Not only is the Village designated as an Opportunity Zone, but we also just adopted our new Land Development Regulations that will manage growth into the future,” said Village Manager Howard W. Brown, Jr. “This is a really exciting time in our young Village’s history.”

Our Code Compliance team is charged with the prevention, detection and investigation of Village Code violations that affect public health, safety, welfare, business activities, building standards, land use or municipal affairs.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress and signed into law on March 27. Martin County is distributing CARES Act funds to help individuals, families, businesses, and non-profits impacted by the pandemic.
