The Village of Mazomanie Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Laborer. Applicants shall be in good physical condition, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Additionally, applicants shall be able to proficiently operate a variety of hand and power tools, as required to maintain village-owned property and utilities. Such items include shovels, rakes, chop saws, jack hammers, chain saws, trimmers, skid loaders, commercial mowers, and dump trucks. Qualified applicants shall have a minimum of two years’ experience in water and sewer system maintenance or construction and experience operating snow removal equipment. Qualified applicants must possess a valid WI Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or permit with air brake endorsement at the time of application. Successful completion of WI DNR Groundwater and Distribution certification within one year of hire is also required.

Open Book

Open Book will be held Tuesday, May 20th from 2:00p - 5:00p by phone.

Please be prepared to provide your name, phone number, municipality, and parcel number from your assessment notice or tax bill when scheduling an appointment.

Board of Review

The Board of Review (BOR) meets annually to hear any final objections to the current year's assessment. It is recommended that you contact the assessor to attempt to resolve any disputed assessments before making a formal appeal at the BOR. If you wish to enter a formal appeal, you must give notice of your intent to appeal by contacting the Clerk at least 48 hours before the BOR begins. The Village has scheduled the Board of Review for Wednesday, June 11th from 5p - 7p.

The Mazomanie Lions Club generously donated an AED to the Village earlier this year to be added at the Community Building.

The AED was recently deployed and will be available for use in an emergency situation. Additionally, a sign recognizing the donation will be installed.

Pool Memberships

Memberships can now be purchased at the Village Hall. Stop by during business hours,

Mon - Thu 7:30a - 4:00p and Fri 7:30a - 12p to complete the form and make payment.

Swimming Lessons will begin the week of June 16th. Information regarding swimming lessons, pool memberships, and pool hours can be found on the Village's website.

Pool Update

Summer is rapidly approaching as evidence from the 80 degree weather we are experiencing mid-May.

The weather cooperated the first full week of May for the pool to receive a fresh coat of paint.

Once the paint has adequately cured and staff schedule's align, the arduous task of filling and installing amenities will begin.

Please be patient as Public Works is currently operating understaffed as we look to fill vacancies.

American Players Theater Tickets

A limited number of free tickets are available to Mazomanie Library card holders. Call or stop by the library for more details. This program is sponsored by Dane County Public Libraries & American Players Theater.

Quilt Display by the Material Girls

The library has a wonderful new quilt display. These are Tumbler quilt patterns. A tumbler quilt is a one-block, patchwork design made from wedge or trapezoid-shaped pieces.

Saturday, May 17th, from 9:00am - 11:00am at the Village Hall. The program is designed to promote safe riding habits and skills for young riders. All ages are welcome.

There will be opportunity to win a free bike.
