Message from Village President

Since the election a few weeks ago, I have been reflecting on the honor of serving a third term as Village President. I truly enjoy the work and the sense of purpose it provides, and I always appreciate the kind words and support I receive from folks throughout the Village each week.

We have much to look forward to in the coming years. Sendik’s is expected to open its new store in August, and we are beginning the design process for the new Klode Park shelter and bandshell—a project I have long chased.

I am excited to continue serving alongside our thoughtful and analytical Village Board, all of whom are dedicated public servants.

Thank you for the continued opportunity to serve, and have a great week!

-Kevin Buckley

Police Department Updates:

Weekly update 4/6-4/13: On 4/7 between 7pm-7:20pm, a package was stolen from the 5400blk N Bay Ridge. The suspect(s) opened it and did not like the contents. They left the package. Around the same time, three suspects attempted to steal a car in the 5200blk N Bay Ridge. A car window was smashed and the steering column was peeled. What thwarted the criminals was a dead car battery. The same suspects left WFB, stole a car in Glendale and were arrested after a pursuit in their city. Charges were referred for the WFB attempted vehicle theft. (How do we know it was the same people?!?... security video). 1 reckless driving citation this week: on 4/10 at 10:05pm, a driver was going approx. 60mph on Carl Campus Drive, lost control, left the roadway, struck a tree, likely totaled their car and got a very expensive ticket. Thankfully no one was injured. Higher temps do not mean higher speeds!

The Spring Diaper Drive, sponsored by Landmark Credit Union with support from the Milwaukee County Federated Library System, is focused on collecting diapers, wipes, and financial donations to stock United Way's Diaper Bank Hubs.

For many local families, purchasing diapers and wipes is a real financial burden. Yet we know that access to diapers is critical to the health and wellbeing of children. Support local families who may be struggling by dropping off diapers and wipes at Landmark Credit Union branches or right here at the library.
