You will be seeing a new face in a Windsor Squad car. We recently added Deputy Steve Colbrook as a contracted Deputy for the Village of Windsor. See below for introduction.
Hello everyone! My name is Steve Colbrook and I have been working for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office for a little over three years now. I am 2nd generation law enforcement, as my father had a very long and fulfilling career down in Illinois (yes, I am from Illinois, don’t hold it against me!) I have been with the Village of Windsor for about a month working the 7:00 pm to 3:00 am shift, and I can already tell that this is the place for me! While at work, I enjoy interacting with the locals and meeting everyone (especially if you’re walking a dog… I always carry treats with me!) Outside of work I love spending time with my wife and my son. We love being outdoors hiking, fishing, watching a ball game, or going to a park.

Village government meetings have moved back to entirely in-person with the exception of Village Board meetings, which will continue to have both in-person and virtual options for attendance. As always, Village meeting agendas are posted on the Village website and meeting information is posted at the top of the agendas: https://www.windsorwi.gov/agendas

From the Village Assessor
|
|
The Village of Windsor's Assessor, Accurate Appraisal, sends out Assessment reports each month. In the June report, they provided the following information regarding market updates:
Mortgage rates have increased by nearly 47% in 6 months. In January of 2022, rates were at 3.56%, compare that to May of 2022 interest rates at about 5.25%.
Higher rates have lowered the number of sales, based on the statistics from WRA (Wisconsin Realtors Association). In April of 2021 there were over 7,000 home sales in Wisconsin, compare that to April of 2022 with less than 6,000 sales, a significant drop.
However, the higher interest rates don't seem to be affecting the median price of homes in Wisconsin. In fact, this year so far homes are selling for more than the last three years.
June is the hottest month for home sales in Wisconsin. If you want to keep up on the what the housing market is doing you can check out the WRA website and track the housing statistics throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone that participated in Cops-N-Bobbers this year! We had a great turn out with over 50 kids participating and many of them fishing for the first time! This event takes many volunteers, and the Windsor Deputies and Village are thankful to all the people that helped make the event a success!

Food Carts in the Park has started! See schedule below. For the most up to date information on the food cart nights, visit Food Carts at the Village of Windsor Parks on Facebook. Food Carts in the Park is organized by one of the Village's Parks Committee members, entirely voluntarily. This is a big undertaking and the Village is incredibly thankful for such giving community members.
