Village Reminders

Fireworks: Did you know that most fireworks require a permit from the municipality to use?

Wis. Stat. § 167.10(1). allows the sale, possession and use, without a permit, of sparklers not exceeding 36 inches in length, stationary cones and fountains, toy snakes, smoke bombs, caps, noisemakers, confetti poppers with less than ¼ grain of explosive mixture, and novelty devices that spin or move on the ground. These are the only kinds of "fireworks" that a person may use or possess without a permit. The general rule of thumb is if it leaves the ground or explodes a permit is required.

Fireworks display permits issued by the Village of Windsor will be posted on the Village of Windsor website: Fireworks - User Display.

Partisan Primary - Tuesday, August 13

Absentee Ballots Mailed

Absentee ballots, for voters with applications on file, have been mailed out for the Partisan Primary, which is held every other year on even numbered years. In the August Primary, each political party narrows down its candidates for the November ballot. For the partisan primary, you may vote for candidates in only one political party of your choice. Wisconsin has run its Fall primary elections this way since the early 1900s.
