Beckmen
Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
This intense Cabernet from Steve Beckmen is explosively delicious now and will be even better three of four years down the road. It is a serious blockbuster!
94/100 - Vinous, Antonio Galloni (8/2020) "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Santa Ynez Valley) is rich and explosive out of the glass. Inky dark fruit, grilled herbs, leather, licorice and a host of earthy notes flesh out in an expansive wine endowed with tremendous depth and complexity. This is such a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink 2021 - 2030." (California)

Château Pavie
"Esprit de Pavie" Bordeaux 2015
93/100 - James Suckling (2/2/2018)
90/100 - Wine Advocate (2/21/2018) "This vintage is a blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and was aged for 15 months in one-year-old barrels. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Esprit de Pavie (a blend of vines in Cotes do Castillon and young vines from Pavie and Monbousquet) opens with expressive red and black plums notes plus touches of baking spices, vanilla pod, dark chocolate and dried Provence herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the bright fruit fills the mouth with plenty of spicy red and black fruits, supported by chewy tannins and finishing with a refreshing lift.

Tenuta di Nozzole
Chianti Classico Riserva 2016
92/100 - Wine Spectator (2/29/2020)
94/100 - James Suckling (7/24/2019)
92/100 - Wine Advocate (9/19/2019) "The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Nozzole shows a lot of ripe and concentrated fruit followed by sweet oak spice and toast. This wine feels like it has been made with an eye toward international markets, thanks to those soft lines, oak renderings and its richly concentrated fruit. There are plump notes of ripe cherry, blackberry, tobacco and baking spice. Pair this wine with your favorite steak dinner. With 80,000 bottles made, this wine is easy to find and offers great value too. Drink Date: 2019 - 2027." (Italy)

Domaine Magellan
Pézenas Coteaux du Languedoc 2015
89/100 - Our Score (12/2020) Here's a 50/50 blend of hand harvested Syrah and Grenache grown in organcially farmed sandstone soils in the Languedoc's Pezanas sub-region. Aged in a combination of concrete tank and used Burgundy barrels, this earthy red shows red and black fruits along with savory, smoky tones and a chewy, bright finish. Try with bacon burgers or lamb sausage. (France)

Margerum
Los Olivos District Cinsault 2019
Doug Margerum is bottling deliciously distinctive old-world wines in the heart of Central California. This 100% Cinsault bottling is a can't miss for Pinot fanatics!
92/100 - Our Score (11/2020)
92/100 - Vinous, Antonio Galloni (7/2020) "The 2019 Cinsault is an absolutely delicious wine. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the red berry fruit remains vibrant. Sweet, perfumed floral accents add lift and a real feeling of sensuality. This light to medium-bodied red is inviting and refreshing from the very first taste.Drinking window: 2020 - 2027." (California)

Bodegas Ontañon
Rioja Crianza 2016
88/100 - Wine Spectator (3/31/2020) "This bright, supple red delivers berry and cherry flavors, with vanilla, orange peel and spice notes, supported by light tannins and sweet-tart acidity. Juicy and fresh. Tempranillo and Garnacha. Drink now through 2024." (Spain)

Pali
"Riviera" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2018
90/100 - Our Score (9/2020)
93/100 - Wine Enthusiast (8/1/2020) "Editor's Choice. This fantastic value is primarily sourced from the winery's estate plus another small family vineyard in Sonoma Coast. Intense, fresh and pristine aromas of boysenberry meet with cocoa on the nose. The palate delivers the same berry intensity atop a strong splash of acidity." (California)

El Enemigo
Mendoza Chardonnay 2018
93/100 - Wine Advocate (10/31/2019)
97/100 - James Suckling (2/13/2020)
93/100 - Vinous, Stephen Tanzer (6/2020) "A Chardonnay from Gualtallary that underwent a carefully calibrated ageing process developed by the winemaker Alejandro Vigil: 500 liters French oak barrels, 35% new, mixed with increasing quantities of flor. Golden yellow in color, the 2018 Chardonnay El Enemigo combines aromas of pear and apple with hazelnuts, toffee and a touch of acacia. Creamy with intense flavors, the film lends a dryness in stark contrast to the ingenious structure that enhances the firm acidity and lengthy, hazelnut finish. A technical, original white inspired by the more forward thinking parts of Burgundy and California with more than a nod to Jura as well. Drinking Window: 2020 - 2028." (Argentina)

Domaine Hippolyte Reverdy
Sancerre 2019
92/100 - Our Score (11/2020)  Incredibly dense and rich on the palate with spine-tingling acidity, the 2019 vintage of this long-time Vin Chicago favorite is the best we've tasted in several years. The glass greets you with fleshy tangerine, tense nectarine, grapefruit pith and tropical guava. The lively and energetic mouthfeel is highlighted by chalky grip and silver stone minerality which flows through the long finish. A complex and perfectly complete premium Sancerre to enjoy anytime. (France)

Leitz
Rheingau Feinherb Riesling 2018
89/100 - Wine Advocate (1/31/2020) "The Leitz Gutswein 2018 Rheingau Riesling Feinherb is clear and fruity yet still pretty reductive on the nose. Bottled with 11% alcohol, this is a lush and charming, salty-piquant and crystalline Riesling in the off-dry style. It's still yeasty but finishes with good grip. This is a delicate and serious Rheingau classic with good length and tension." (Germany)

Abbazia di Novacella
Alto Adige Sylvaner 2019
This sophisticated Italian white took home the #36 spot on "The Enthusiast 100" list of the top wines of 2020!
93/100 - Wine Enthusiast (7/1/2020) "Apricot, citrus and smoke aromas form the nose of this radiant, fragrant white. On the racy, delicious palate, vibrant acidity and flinty mineral notes lend tension and depth to ripe yellow peach, juicy grapefruit and ginger. Editors' Choice." (Italy)

Castell de Sant Pau
Cava Rosé NV
We've just reloaded on this tasty Rosé Cava!
89/100 - Our Score (7/2019)
92/100 - Wine & Spirits (8/2019) "A quiet wine, from the subtle hue of the color and the gentle mousse to the savory integration of the finish, this melds pale apple notes with mineral accents from the lees. It's a blend of trepat (80 percent) and garnacha, though it has barely a whisper of red fruit. The impression it leaves is tight, simple and classically beautiful." (Spain)
