Book Recommendations
The Vincentians have always tried to answer the call to a New Evangelization by employing modern-day communication techniques to share Christ’s love with the poor. The Church has been doing this for centuries. There exists a recording of Leo XIII singing the Ave Maria . This makes him both the oldest born person to be recorded (b.1810) and the first pope (1878-1903) in history to have his voice recorded. Hear the recording HERE.
Our Lady is Very Vincentian.
The Miraculous Medal was entrusted to St. Catherine Labouré , a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. This gives the Vincentian family a unique connection to the Blessed Mother. In this spirit, above is the oldest known image of Mary, nursing Jesus, from Catacombs of Priscilla, circa 3rd century.
The summer book reading season is upon us. To participate in this pastime, each week during May and June, a different Vincentian of the Eastern Province has been recommending a book to read, and explaining why.

Check out all of the recommendations to date, HERE.

  “If I can stop one heart from breaking”
by Emily Dickinson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
From our family at vinformation.org, you can take a quiz as part of Who Wants to be a Vincentian!
