Board Meeting

The next Board meeting will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 at 9am at Estero Country Club and via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to you the Friday before by Pegasus.

A big shout out to Deb Moulton for all the work she has done to provide you with a professional looking newsletter. It takes a great deal of time, effort and patience to get all of the information needed to keep you updated and then make it interesting. Deb is being patient training me (Kathy Collins at vineskathy1@gmail.com) so I can deliver a newsletter of the same quality you have been enjoying.

Financial Statements, Board Meeting Minutes, Important Documents & More

The Board has engaged Association Reserves, an industry leader in providing comprehensive assessments of HOA reserves to perform an analysis of VCA assets including their expected remaining life and replacement cost. This will be used to plan for, and fund, the reserves needed to maintain our community now and into

the future.

In addition, the VCA portal on the Pegasus site allows residents to view the above mentioned information as well as much more. Login with your email address and password. If you do not have a password, Pegasus can provide you with one.

Non Resident Barcode Renewal

Non-resident barcodes will expire on January 1. You may be renew anytime after November 1. To renew your barcode please present your driver's license plus vehicle registration along with a check in the amount of $50 payable to Vines Community Association to security at the main gate. Security will verify ECC membership using a list provided by the ECC. Barcodes are issued between 8 and 2 Monday through Thursday.

Without the barcode you will not be able to enter the Nuthatch Lane gate and must stop at the main gate each time you enter The Vines.

Lake Water Quality

The lake levels are unseasonably low due to lack of rain, high temperatures and water for the irrigation of the new grass on the golf course. Although the water level at the bulkheads show levels down drastically, the litoralis planted during the resotration of the lake banks at Lost Creek and Fairway Bend make the views from the golf course look like the lakes are full and don't show the erosion.

FPL Pole Replacement

We have received comopensation from FPL for damage caused to the hedge in the amount of $54,225. FPL is on site and continuing the replacement project.

Traffic Issues

Two new DO NOT ENTER signs and a YIELD sign have been placed at the car wash exit. Caution is urged when entering from US 41 or when leaving The Vines and using the cross through to enter the road leading to the carwash.

Perimeter Barrier Replacement

It is a slow and frustrating effort to determine an effective and cost appropriate plan to replace our perimeter barriers. Stantec Engineering has been asked to give an estimate for permitting and replacing the wall. VCA representatives and Heatherwood Construction met with Village of Estero representatives to get information about what the village expects and the permitting process. We have some preliminary estimates for the removal of the hedges, the existing wall and the grading required.

Security Issues

If you see a security issue that needs police attention, call 911 or the Lee County Sheriff at 239-477-1200 or 1000. DO NOT CALL THE FRONT GATE! Gate security personnel cannot report something they did not see themselves to the policy.

Rails to Trails

We are trying to get as many residents and community associations as possible to voice their objections to the proposed Rails to Trails route through The Vines and neighboring communities.

If you know someone in another community that can get us a dialogue with their HOA Board please email the information, with a list of names and contact information, to memberships@esterocc.com. This information is needed as soon as possible so we can continue to work on organizing meetings. Please let us know if you would be willing to attend a meeting with us. Even better, if you know the leaders in other communities, reach out and see if they would endorse our mission - create a trail that is safe and secure for everyone. Then email us with that information.

Community Relations

Fortunately, during this hurricane season, we haven't had to activate our Hurrican Preparedness Plan. Let's hope November 1 brings an end to worrying about it. The Vines Community Association, Pegasus and the Estero Country Club all have comprehensive plans in place. Work on updating the plans and contact lists will be an on-going effort. Communication among those three entities, the residents and the Estero/San Carlos communities are key to everyone feeling safe during any emergency situation.

Attending Village of Estero council meetings and reporting updates will be a priority as will setting up semi-annual meetings with our out parcels, Family Medical, Aldi, Tyson Eye and Mister Car Wash. Although Walmart is not an out parcel, we have security and maintenance contracts with them and will reach out to them routinely.

There has been a bit of a cool down at The Vines and we've had some visitors.

Thank you Lisa Smith for catching these two on hole #2.
