11 November 2022

Dear Tory,

Peace and Greetings to you!

As I started with last week’s message in our Weekly, that we’ve begun the season of thanksgiving and celebration in the life of our community of faith, as we remembered and honored those saints who have gone before us. This Sunday, we will give thanks to our Veterans who served with pride, compassion, and honor, serving our great nation, securing our freedom, and allowing us to remember that these freedoms they have fought for is something we should never take for granted.

I also couldn’t be more thankful, as well as proud for the continued generosity this community of faith gives, to the various opportunities provided to us to give back to others in our community. What a wonderful display of giving you all have once again done by providing the abundance of winter clothing that we will give to our partners at Courage MKE, to ensure that our homeless or displaced youth will be able to keep warm during our cold winter months. Additionally, the board and I continue to be grateful for your generosity each month as we collect non-perishable good, helping to keep the pantry at Vivent stocked, providing those who are in need to nourishment with the ability to receive food items from their pantry.

I’m however, very excited that tomorrow we will come together for our 7th Annual Fundraiser/Gala, A Night of Cabaret. An evening of celebration, fellowship and fun raising fund to help continue to keep our programs and ministries vibrant and alive, as we continue to serve the Greater Milwaukee community.

This Sunday we CONTINUE our three-week sermon series, which we have titled Vintage. Las week we defined Vintage as: of old, recognized, and enduring interest, importance of quality. It's somethings that has been around for a while, but the value has never gone away and still valuable today. Join me this Sunday at 11:00am for In-Person Worship or later Sunday afternoon for our Virtual Worship Service, as we engage in the next part of our Vintage Series through our "Relationships."

Remember to mark your calendars for both, our After Thanksgiving Potluck Fellowship which will be Sunday, November 27th immediately following worship. Come and bring those delectable leftovers from Thanksgiving to share with one another, allowing us to come together and give thanks for one another. Also, Sunday, December 4th will be our Annual Congregational Meeting, following worship. This year, instead of having a Potluck, since we’re having one the week before, the board of directors will provide lunch for our Annual Meeting. Come, hear, learn and be a part of our Annual Meeting, providing your voice and ear to what we have done this past year. It’s also a time to vote for a new Lay Delegate to the congregation. If you are interested in running to become our Lay Delegate and represent our congregation at the denomination level, speak with any board member of myself for an application and qualifications to run.

As always, please take a moment to scroll down for the many other special announcements in the life of our congregation and community, as we continue to be the vibrant, inclusive and progressive community of faith that we are.

In Christ,

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

All of this is from God, who ransomed us through Christ — and made us ministers

of that reconciliation. This means that through Christ, the world was fully

reconciled again to God, who didn’t hold our transgressions against us, but instead entrusted us with this message of reconciliation. This makes us Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making the appeal directly through us.

Therefore, we implore you in Christ’s name: be reconciled to God. For our sake,

God made the One who was without sin to be sin, so that by this means we might become the very holiness of God.

Join us for IN-PERSON WORSHIP

this Sunday 11:00am
