Join us for our 18th Annual Student School Board Representatives Workshop to be held on November 15 at the Williamsburg Lodge in the Allegheny Room. Student Board Representatives, do not want to miss this workshop!


To kick off the workshop, student's will hear from Mr. Joseph Washington on how to turn average into action. Following the keynote presentation, Mr. Bill Bradley will be leading a group discussion on "Ideal Workspaces, Where Do You Work Best". To close out the day, presentations include two interactive sessions that will be sure to get some excitement from the audience when they are tasked to complete a Policy and will compete head to head in School Board Governance Jeopardy.

VSBA Budget Training Workshop

Register today for the VSBA Budget Training Workshop on October 24, 2023. This is a two-hour session designed to provide school board members and division superintendents with a general understanding of the essential elements of budgeting and allocating division resources in a strategically-focused manner that aligns with and supports the individual needs, goals and aspirations of students. Specifically, this session will provide a general overview of student-centered resource allocation models that are intended to promote hitting every students needs. In addition, attendees will look at a number of resource allocation/distribution models that are being utilized in school districts around the country to support the individual needs of students and schools based on multiple objective and measurable student characteristics. Finally, this session will provide attendees with a comparative view of a traditional budgeting model with that of a student-centered resource allocation system.
