No more snow days in Virginia public schools? New bill proposes doing away with them

If passed, this bill would require remote learning on days with inclement weather and school divisions would only be allowed a maximum of 10 remote days.

Henrico School Board makes history during 2023 elections

Alicia Atkins has become the first Black woman to hold a leadership position on the Henrico County School Board. The board named Atkins as vice chair last week. She also became the first woman and first Black person to serve as Varina District representative when elected in November 2019.

As VHSL moves towards recognizing girls wrestling, Bassett wrestlers compete in first all-girls match

Bassett High School sophomore TaMeil Foddrell is in her second season of wrestling, but Monday was the first time she's ever wrestled against another girl. Staunton River High School hosted Southern Virginia's first all-girls wrestling match with the Eagles taking on area teams Monday.
