Last week, the United States Congress passed the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023. The act was signed into law by President Biden this past weekend.

 

There were many questions from school board members regarding the provisions of the act which called for the claw back of unspent COVID relief and ESSER dollars at the local level. These funds are not subject to the claw back provisions of the act. Updates: 7 people shot after Huguenot High School graduation ceremony

Jonathan Young, a member of the Richmond school board, was inside the Altria Theatre for Huguenot High School graduation ceremonies Tuesday when he heard as many as 20 shots outside. The sound touched off a stampede of "hundreds of people," which injured many, he said.

$30,298 in Seward Scholarships Awarded to Six Dinwiddie Graduates

By: Jeanne Minetree Six 2023 Dinwiddie High School graduates, along with four seniors from Prince George and Petersburg High Schools, received scholarships established under the Lewis Claiborne Seward Trust. Mr. Seward named the scholarships to honor his parents.

Charlottesville offering free meals to students during summer break

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Charlottesville's Parks & Recreation is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The program will allow children to get meals during the summer break for free. "It's just a program to extend the service that was offered during the school year into the summer months, just to ensure that every kid in our community still has access to food and meals," City Councilor Michael Payne said.

HCPS to host job fair for 2023-2024 school year
