VSBA, VASS Joint Statement On

Release of JLARC K-12 Funding


The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) released its report on Virginia’s K-12 Public Education Funding Formula today at a commission meeting in Richmond. This study was a directive passed in the 2021 session of the Virginia General Assembly which asked the commission to provide an accurate assessment of the costs to implement the Standards of Quality.

2023 Conference on Education, July 13, 2023, Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa at Short Pump



Join us for the 38th Annual VSBA Conference on Education, commencing with a keynote address by Ms. Fabiana Parker, the 2023 Virginia Teacher of the Year. Following Ms. Parker's presentation, we have VACORP assisting us in presenting the prestigious 2023 Excellence in Workforce Readiness Awards. Next, leaders from various school divisions across Virginia will convene to participate in a range of engaging mini-workshops. These workshops will showcase successful practices implemented in Virginia's school divisions, offering valuable insights and strategies for all attendees. After the roundtable presentations, participants will have the opportunity to partake in optional regional meeting. During the lunch break, we will announce the winners of the annual VSBA Food for Thought 2023 awards. Additionally, we are privileged to have recipients of the 2023 Student Essay Scholarship address the audience.
