One step closer to a new middle school in Fredericksburg City

Fredericksburg City Council on Tuesday evening approved an amendment to the budget for fiscal year 2023 to reflect $74.8 million cost of a new middle school. "[This is] one more step in a very deliberative process.

Updated: Teacher, students injured at Dinwiddie High School

A student was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday after a chemistry classroom demonstration led to a fire at Dinwiddie High School. Three other students and a teacher were treated for injuries, officials said. The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office in a statement said emergency crews responded to the school at about 9:23 a.m.
