Staunton School Board members will receive salary beginning in 2023

STAUNTON - Staunton School Board voted to begin providing an annual salary to its members effective Jan. 1, 2023. The salary will be $5,000 for all members with the chairperson receiving an additional $1,000.

'We are not going to close schools again,' Richmond superintendent says

GCPS Educational Foundation awards 27 mini-grants

The Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation awarded a total of $10,900 to teachers at all eight county schools for 27 classroom mini-grants. Funds for this program are generated through the annual Chesapeake Bank/Chesapeake Wealth Management 8K and 3K Run/Walk held at Gloucester High School and are provided by sponsors from local businesses and individuals, as well as from event participants.

HCPS Moves Forward With Bid Process For Outdoor Learning Spaces

The Harrisonburg School Board has taken the next step in the process for constructing outdoor learning spaces at all eight city schools. Earlier this month, the School Board approved a resolution that will allow the division to proceed with a design and build method for bidding out the projects, as opposed to a design, bid and build method.

Three county schools receive hydroponic systems

Students at three Louisa County schools will get to grow their own vegetables right in the classroom, thanks to new hydroponic systems delivered in November. Jouett and Thomas Jefferson elementary schools and Louisa County High School each received one HYVE® LF-ONE hydroponic system from Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom and the Louisa County Rotary Club.
