School Board gets preview of how Taylor Middle School could look with renovations

Fauquier school board members got their first look this week at how Taylor Middle School might look after extensive renovations to make room for an additional 300 students, a new and larger gym, a cafeteria big enough to accommodate one full grade level and a redesigned bus loop that would make picking up and dropping off students easier.

School Board Pledges Action on Grand Jury Report

Following the release of the findings of the special grand jury report on the investigation in the Loudoun County Public School's sexual assault scandal, the School Board leadership released a statement noting the eight-month probe found no criminal conduct, but pledging to address the panel's "serious" criticisms.

Fredericksburg-area schools earn Purple Star awards

Multiple schools in the Fredericksburg area have earned Purple Star awards for meeting the needs of students from military families, the Virginia Department of Education announced Monday. In Fredericksburg, Hugh Mercer and Lafayette elementary schools and Walker-Grant Middle School earned the Purple Star designation.

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) -Students at Belle Heth Elementary School had story time thanks to a partnership with BAE Systems on Dec. 5. "It's the love of reading," BAE Systems ' Lisa Hillary-Tee said. HILLSVILLE - Hillsville Elementary students will soon see a new project underway, after the school was awarded a grant to implement Agriculture in the Classroom. Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) awarded 71 grants in 44 Virginia localities for the 2022-23 school year.
