Winchester School Board completes transition to elected body

WINCHESTER - Starting Jan. 1, for the first time ever, every member of the Winchester School Board will be an elected official. School Board approves bonuses for Botetourt County Public Schools employees

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Bonuses are coming to all Botetourt County Public Schools employees. The School Board unanimously approved the action at its meeting Thursday night. All full-time employees will receive a $1,000 bonus and all part-time employees will receive a $500 bonus. The money to make this possible will be coming from the state.

Danville School Board member stepping down Nov. 23

Brandon Atkins, who did not seek reelection for the Danville School Board, announced his resignation Thursday night effective Nov. 23. During comments at the school board meeting, he said while his term was scheduled to end on Dec. 31, "for personal reasons" he will need to exit on Nov. 23.
