Richmond School Board member concerned about more RPS resignations

RICHMOND, Va. -- Parents and school leaders continue to express concern about perceived political turmoil within Richmond Public Schools after Richmond Schools Superintendent Jason Kamras said his team was "stretched to a breaking point." Amanda James, who has one child at Westover Hills Elementary and another at Mary Munford Elementary, said she was worried about the state of her school district.

Great Bridge High team wins $110,000 for tech idea to help bus driver shortage

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Students from a Chesapeake high school are celebrating their win at a nationwide problem-solving competition. A team from Great Bridge High School competed last week in New York City at the annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition. The challenge encourages students in grades 6-12 to use STEM skills to address local issues in their community.

Montgomery Co. School Board to talk to search firms

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County School Board will choose between two firms to help in its search for a new superintendent. Board Chairwoman Sue Kass said the two search firms the elected body narrowed the pool down to will be given the opportunity to present themselves to the general public in an open session and "tell us what they can do for us" at a meeting Tuesday, May 3.
