Henrico Schools seek $5 million to upgrade school security | HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - During Tuesday night's Henrico Board of Supervisors meeting, county leaders revealed they're seeking $5 million of capital funds to ensure students' safety for the upcoming school year. | | |

(WVIR) - Facing teacher and substitute vacancies, Albemarle County Public Schools says it has some new strategies to alleviate the shortage this school year. Anderson Holman resigns from Winchester School Board | WINCHESTER - Winchester School Board Vice Chairwoman Karen Anderson Holman has resigned from the panel after accepting a job that precludes her from serving on an elected body. Maggie McCampbell Lien, public information officer for Winchester Public Schools (WPS), said Anderson Holman's new job is within the legal system but her specific role is being kept confidential until she starts in the position. | | |
Waynesboro City Schools to host second Back to School Bash Sunday | WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) - Waynesboro City Schools will host its second Back to School Bash on Sunday, July 31 from 1-6 p.m. at Kate Collins Middle School, school officials said in a press release. MCPS rolling out electric buses this school year | MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Montgomery County Public Schools is adding electric buses to its fleet this year. The school district has four electric buses with two more ordered. The buses can hold over 70 kids and can ride around 80 or 90 miles per charge. All the buses were funded through grants. | | |
