Waterman Elementary Presents Sensory Room

Waterman Elementary School third-graders Hunter Ritchie and Tre Peyton hopped like frogs across the room. They bounced on a yoga ball, and jumped on a trampoline, and belly flopped onto a bean-bag-style mat. They threw Velcro balls onto a toy dart board, did a bear crawl, and completed wall push-ups.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Albemarle County Public Schools held its 2023 Equity and Opportunities Fair. The fair was a combination of workshops led by K-12 educators and hiring opportunities. The ACPS HR department conducted on-site interviews and community partners shared how they support students and staff.

Matthew Docteur started kindergarten in Henrico County Public Schools in 2019-20, the year that COVID-19 hit. He misbehaved and refused to turn on his computer camera during virtual classes. The Botetourt County School Board has updated the leave and absence policy, extending to their employees the provisions of the State Sick Leave Plan for teachers plus certain supplementary provisions which provide additional security for employees during illness or emergency.

John Aughenbaugh, a career and technical education specialist at New Kent High School, has been named the school division's Teacher of the Year. Aughenbaugh, the chair of the Career and Technical Education department, will represent New Kent County at the 2022-2023 Virginia Teacher of the Year competition.
