Hampton superintendent to retire July 1

Hampton City Schools Superintendent Jeffery Smith announced Thursday that he will retire July 1 after 32 years in education. Smith was hired to lead the school division in 2015. Under his tenure, all Hampton schools received full accreditation from the state for the first time.
