Spotsylvania School Board members balk at time limits during budget session

The Spotsylvania County School Board again adjourned a meeting Monday without completing the approved agenda. The meeting was a work session to discuss the budget for fiscal year 2024, which begins July 1.

Coaches fired after 22-year-old assistant girls basketball coach impersonates 13-year-old JV player

Arlisha Boykins, a 22-year-old former assistant coach on the Churchland JV girls basketball team in Portsmouth, impersonated a 13-year-old player who played for the Truckers. The student-athlete was out of town at a club basketball tournament.

LEA: School Collective Bargaining Vote Deadline Triggered

Loudoun Education Association President let Loudoun County Public Schools know via certified mail that they have 51%-or a majority-of all licensed employee's authorization cards to begin collective bargaining. Sullivan said the mailing included a letter, an affidavit signed by Sullivan, and a proposed resolution LEA would like the School Board to adopt.
