Germanna launches first high school cybersecurity class

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - The 10 students in Stephen Tate's cybersecurity fundamentals class are unwitting multitaskers. In addition to preparing to pass the Computing Technology Industry Association's Security+ exam-an exam usually given to those who have worked in the cybersecurity industry for at least two years-they are earning college credits and blazing a trail by participating in the first dual-enrollment cybersecurity program in the state.

Bristol Virginia schools to test new approach to controlling COVID

BRISTOL, Va. - City schools will participate in a pilot program in January designed to keep students in class following possible COVID-19 contacts. Bristol is one of 10 divisions statewide that will be part of the Virginia Department of Health's "Test to Stay" program that consists of contact tracing and regular COVID-19 testing if someone has close contact with someone positive for the virus.

Henrico Schools surpasses highest weekly COVID-19 case count again | The Henrico Citizen

HCPS reports over 10,000 exposures since Sept. 1 For the third consecutive week, Henrico County Public Schools set a new record with its highest single-week increase in COVID-19 cases. During the last week of school before winter break, HCPS reported 198 new cases - 87 in elementary schools, 45 in middle schools, 61 in high schools and five in various annexes.
