About 100 sixth graders from three middle schools got real-world experience from professionals in the health and medical sciences field on Monday, with another 100 from three more middle schools joining the program Tuesday.

School Board accepts bid for CCHS renovations | Carroll News

The Carroll County Board of Education approved bids for renovations to Carroll County High School (CCHS) at its November 9 regular meeting. The project, which has been scaled back from initial plans, will require no local funding. Finance Supervisor Tammy Quesenberry told the board bids for the project had been opened on October 27 with three vendors responding.

Virginia's workforce programs could see sweeping restructuring

Virginia would get a new, central department responsible for the state's efforts to connect employers and employees under a sweeping restructuring proposed by Secretary of Labor Bryan Slater. The aim of the plan - which would require General Assembly approval - is to streamline access to job market information for people looking for work or training, as well as facilitating policy making and data sharing, Slater said.

Man arrested for making threats against Danville school

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - A man has been arrested for allegedly making threats against Westover Christian Academy Thursday, according to the Danville Police Department. 51-year-old Douglas Scholz was arrested late Friday afternoon in Martinsville.
